Moonpig Mother’s Day For All!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

I didn’t know much about the on line card company Moonpig. I thought I did because I’ve seen the adverts and know the catchy tune that goes with them and I’ve had some really funny and lovely personalised cards sent to me by friends using their service.

My friend Sarah has sent me quite a few and she’s very good at finding ace on line retailers so I just assumed they were really good because she chose them but actually, I haven’t used them myself. Yet!

Yesterday, Moonpig invited me to the Motague On The Gardens Hotel in Central London for some afternoon tea while browsing their Mother’s Day range. I assumed these would be cards… They’d sent me a beautiful card invitation and it had reminded me how lovely it is to get proper mail through the post and how infrequently this happens. I love to have something exciting to open physically which isn’t a bill or something equally as boring. Alice from And Essex Wife and I exchanged that we’d both had hopes of sending more letters and cards to people we care about this year, just because… But that we’d neither of us got round to it.

The Montague On The Gardens Hotel was awash with Mother’s Day Gifts and Flowers from Moonpig yesterday! So beautiful and I simply had no idea!

I think we’re all so consumed with this instant on-line world that we forget we can actually send things through the post and c’mon… Who would choose an email over a proper letter for something personal? Not me! But then I am so used to sending emails and getting that immediate response that the thought of going to a shop, buying a card, writing it, finding a stamp and then posting it… Well, I know it shouldn’t but it seems like a bit of a hassle really! I have two friends who had baby girls three weeks ago and I’ve only got round to the buying of the card stage!

With Moonpig they take the hassle away for you and to fit in with this modern lifestyle that we are so embroiled with you can do all the ordering, personalising and sending through them (or they will send to you to sign and send out yourself). The recipient still gets a physical card, that you have chosen with love and care and even designed yourself to a great extent; you can even add a photo! However, because the process is all done on line the hassle is taken away from you! I think this is definitely the way forward when it comes to sending greetings cards!

But I knew they did cards! What I didn’t know until I’d walked in and seen all the flowers was that they can also send gifts of flowers, chocolates, champagne, biscuits, cake… Oh all sorts really and like I said, I had no idea! If you order by 4pm Monday to Friday then the order will be dispatched the next day and they will even deliver on Mothering Sunday itself! You can order well in advance to make sure there’s no forgetting or you can leave it to the last minute! There’s some excellent deals on the gifts too with some offering a free card!

The list of gifts is very extensive, absolutely something for everyone!

It was all about Mother’s Day yesterday and I LOVED the flowers although I think I would have to choose the cheese in the shape of a heart with other yummy bits and a bottle of champagne for my favourite gift! Saying that, as I type this looking at the beautiful roses Moonpig sent me home with I have to say it’s blimmin nice to get flowers! Jonny never buys them for me! He forgets or can’t be bothered? I don’t know but whatever it is he doesn’t do it… I wonder if now I’ve introduced him to Moonpig, who provide this old fashioned service with a very modern style that he might do better? Hint, hint, nudge, nudge!

Before I finished browsing the gorgeous floral and beautifully pink Mother’s Day range I spied a little touch of their Easter ideas and LOVED them! They have one of those old fashioned card board filled Easter eggs as well as well known brands and lots and lots of chocolate! Alice said it’s like the modern day Easter bunny and it SO is!

Easter also looks good at Moonpig!

I hope you all get a lovely bunch of Moonpig flowers for Mother’s Day but if nothing else then I hope you all get a card! I love having a card and something special through the post, no matter how small it’s always a nice surprise don’t you think?

Extra things I like about the service are that you can send to the US or Australia, you can be reminded of friend’s birthdays and you can even have the cards sent to you first so that you can sign them and send them out yourself!

Thank you for a lovely afternoon Moonpig! As well as Alice I got to catch up with Katy from Modern Mummy, Emily from Family Four Fun and Sammy from One Blue One Pink so it was a gorgeous way to spend time with friends as well as getting to see some fab products and we LOVED the massages, especially Florence!

And getting a massage was just a very grown up thng to do and made Florence feel very special! Mine was so lovely too!

I was invited to the Moonpig event to see the range for the purpose of an honest review.

  1. I’ve used Moonpig for quite a few years and find them very reliable. Sending personal cards is always a hit but I’ve discovered people don’t like it when you have your name printed, so I always get the back sent back to me so I can sign it personally.
