Jimmy really enjoys the gentle pre-school programme Bing which teaches children in a really sweet way, how to respond to situations such as when they might need to be kind, thoughtful, use their imagination or how to care for someone else. It’s basically a soft introduction into empathy, feelings and life in general and along with Flop, who is Bing’s guardian looking after him when he faces a problem, it essentially deals with morals of the world in a way that tiny people can undersand.
Bing also has lots of colourful friends in the programme and it was only a matter of time before toys to go with the show hit the shops. When we were sent the new ‘My Friend Bing’ by Fisher Price Jimmy was absolutely thrilled and when Florence saw what he does she became pretty enamoured too! It may be a pre-school show but she absolutely loves this toy and as he sweetly says phrases from the show and invites children to play interactive games it’s lovely to watch the children responding to this toy!
Bing will invite little ones to play his favourite games like standing like a statue without wobbling, tip-toeing slowly, and seeing who can be the fastest runner. And if Bing should run too fast and fall down…it’s no big thing! Bing will recognise when he has toppled over and will ask your child to help him up again. Bing also loves to sing. As Bing talks and plays, his ears will wiggle and move up and down. It’s really such a lovely toy and although it is fairly big and sturdy it doesn’t seem to encumber in the room because he is so softly spoken.
Ah we think ‘My Friend Bing’ is great! You can buy him at Smyths for £39.99 and he’d make a perfect Christmas present for a little one. He is recommended for ages 2+ which is the perfect age to start playing with Bing and joining in with his actions and games. That’s not to say it’s a babyish toy as Florence has shown she loves him too! I think interative toys are so much fun although they are often complicated. This one however, is very simple and requires the child to do little other than listen. Fab!
We were sent a ‘My Friend Bing’ toy for the purpose of an honest review.
