Our 11th Wedding Anniversary!

We have three anniversary dates that we like to celebrate, call it a bit much and maybe it is but I’m a firm believer in celebrating all the good things because why in heavens not? Jonny and I got together on Christmas Eve in the Year 2000 and our 21 years of being together is coming up this December but our wedding anniversaries, yep, plural, are celebrated on both dates too. We got legally married on August the 4th and our big white wedding was in September, the 25th, in Portugal. We had a nod to it in August but it’s the September date which is the biggie for us and this weekend we celebrated 11. 11 years is the symbol of steel (I bought Jonny an Oyster shucker made of stainless steel while he got me non steel related flowers) and is said to show you’ve withstood much with the strength of steel. Of course we have had downs as well as ups and the steel has been shaken a few times but steel we are indeed. And we celebrated us, love and our glorious family with a big cheers!

The big kids (and Raffie, who I can’t quite call a big kid yet), all stayed at Gram’s on Friday night and I made a 7 course meal (we didn’t get past course 6 though) for Jonny and I and then Saturday, our actual anniversary, we got the kiddos and headed to Southwold for a family day on the beach. When the vicar blessed us at our wedding, Reverand Hayed Hubbard, he blessed Jonny and I with Florence saying we should be given our blessing as a family and I wouldn’t want to celebrate the day without our whole family with us, of course bigger now with 4 rays of sunshine beaming along side us (and arguing in the car but hey, I always say it’s not all perfection, this perfection malarkey)!

11 years ago I was drinking Vino Verde on Estudantes Beach in Lagos on the Algarve toasting our wedding. This day 11 years on and I was on a British beach (which we love so it’s all good there), helping a toddler do a discreet poo in the dunes before finding a poo bin to deposit it in. Different but honestly there’s no place I’d rather be than with my guys, our family, our marriage, our blessing!

The start of my 7 course supper!
It can be any beach but this is the gang to be with!
Mind you, Southwold is pretty darn gorgeous too!

Kite flying!
Jimmy was so good at it!
And helped Raffie have turns!
We nearly lost it but Jimmy’s knot tying skills were superb!

Lovely Flobo!
Jonny cooked brunch!
And made tea!
Bacon and egg baps!
Just perfect!
Even with sand!
Even Jimmy ate them, sans the egg!

Still loving!
Our biggest girl!
So grown up!

Relaxed and happy!
Sleeping like a baby!
Sun set! Here’s to many more!
