We’ve been to Bella Italia quite a few times now and on every visit have come away feeling really pleased we went, like we got good value for money and most importantly, that the children were well occupied as well as being fed something they really enjoyed. We went to review their new breakfast menu a while back, just Jimmy and I, and found it to be brilliant and then just before Christmas Katy from ModernMummy, her brood and mine, […]
A few weeks ago I received an unexpected delivery of a silver box filled with lovely things to help me sleep. A gorgeous eye mask and some comfy bed socks, a HUGE jar of Neal’s yard lavender bath salts, some sleepy time hot chocolate and a relaxing candle. The box came with a note telling me that it was from some sleep angels and they wished me a good night’s sleep. The note also told me I would receive another […]
On Friday 6th March UKMums.tv is hosting a Blaze and the Monster Machines Twitter Party to celebrate the premiere of the brand new series on Nick Jr. A two hour Twitter party will take place from 3:45pm – 5:45pm, with mums at home hosting their own parties. I’m one of those Mums and you can join in too by heading over to @ukmumstv Twitter. The premiere of Blaze and the Monster Machines is at 4:00pm on Nick Jr. which is […]
Yesterday I took the children to the Kids AM screening at the Vue Cinema near to us. I usually love this session (which starts at around 9.30am) as it costs just £1.75 per person (adult OR child) and they even do a Kids AM special popcorn combo which is not too badly priced either. For £2.20 you get a popcorn and a drink or for £2.75 they add an Oreo or a Milky Way; it’s literally the ONLY time I’d […]
I love baby wearing and carried Florence in a variety of slings from the day after she was born. Her very first outing was to the shops in a Close baby carrier which looks a bit like a wrap around and is soft material. I loved it although it only really took her to about a year old. It would be much younger if you have a heavy child. I actually have found quite a few slings that are brilliant over […]
by Paolo Camera In January 2015 two US climbers became the first to scale the world’s toughest mountain. They free-climbed the tortuous Dawn Wall of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park; 900 metres of sheer granite rock rising almost vertically into the sky. As extreme sports go, free climbing is quite clearly up there. Adventure seekers are prepared to travel the world to take part in some of the most daring past times imaginable. Hop on a flight to Malaysia […]
Last week I wrote a post about the fact I was about to embark upon a 5 day intensive driving course with 5day.co.uk. I had lots of reasons, none of them very solid, as to why it took me to the age of 35 to take the plunge into the driving pool but the time suddenly became right for me and I took the bull by the horn and went for it! Learning to drive in 5 days is a […]
This half term I am doing something that I have wanted to do for a very long time but have been too lazy, too skint or too scared to do until now… I’m still scared but a few weeks ago the impetus took me and I booked an intensive driving course to learn, finally at the age of 35, how to drive. I didn’t do it when I was seventeen because I didn’t have any money and then when my […]
by jamesboyes It is estimated that Brits waste £37 million annually on gym memberships they barely use. We’ve all done it, binged over Christmas and promised ourselves that come January 1st we are going to turn over a new leaf. And, often, we do…if only until January 2nd. The gym membership is often the most costly, and unneeded, component of this short-lived […]
My husband’s birthday is right around the corner and whenever I ask him what he wants, he says he really doesn’t want or need anything. He also says that if he did, he’d simply go out and get it himself, so not to bother. Does this sound familiar from the man in your life? But at the same time, if you literally followed his advice to the letter and simply wrote him a card, there’d probably be a bit of […]
