There’s nothing cosier than getting into your pyjamas and watching a movie. I love doing this on a wintry evening and if Jonny is out at band practice or gigging then I find it a real treat to get the children in bed and watch something entirely on my own. My choice of DVD without anyone else huffing and puffing that it’s too girlie or children pleading for something more child friendly instead! I love the film ‘About Time’ which […]
I’ve written about Tesco food lots in the past, some I like and some, like any other supermarket, is just not my cup of tea. One thing they rally do know how to do well though is extensive and specialised ranges. And one of those ranges is the Free From one. Free from dairy, gluten or wheat and with over 350 products in the range it has become the go-to solution for food allergies and intolerances. I have two friends and […]
Today Jimmy and I popped up into town for the official announcement of the Dream Toys 2014 list. The top 72 toys were revealed by the Toy Retailers Association and a showcase followed where we got to play and peruse them all. Selected by a panel of leading UK toy retailers it is predicted that these 72 will be the ones to fly off the shelves this Christmas and having seen them all myself many times since the Christmas in […]
We’re rather fond of the Sofia The First micro dolls from Flair and Florence absolutely loves her earrings and ring play sets from the range. This week she has added to her collection of the tiny dolls and has been playing with the Royal Prep Academy Backpack Playset which comes with Sophia, Fauna, Minimus and Prince Zander. From the moment she saw it she was smitten. It’s the whole palace school all inside a hard plastic case made to look like a satchel. […]
We do have a pet but he doesn’t live with us. Bollo the cat became rather unreasonable after we had children and decided he didn’t much like me. Never the friendliest of cats to begin with he became positively feral in nature if we tried to do such things to him like, oh I don’t know, walk past him while he was sleeping so we renamed him Bollo The Beast! We used to send him off on sabbatical to my […]
On Sunday Florence and I were invited to the premiere of Nativity 3 – Dude Where’s My Donkey. We were going to take Jimmy with us but at the last minute I decided an afternoon of fun just us girls would be a real treat for the last day of half term and so off we went to Leicester Square wearing our Christmas jumpers as per the dress code. We were asked to wear Christmas jumpers in support of the […]
Next week on 12th November 2014, at 4-6pm, we are helping to host a massive Twitter Party and you are, of course, invited! The party is all about the DesignaFriend range and together with UKMums.TV we will be finding out about these cute dolls while we play, eat and have fun. Oh! And there will online spot prizes too so if you can join us on Twitter then don’t forget to look our for and use the hashtag #DesignaFriend! See you there!
Time really does fly when you’re having fun doesn’t it. I can’t quite believe that today is the last day of the holidays and tomorrow we will be back in the school swing. I feel just as I did as a child, a bit miffed and a bit blue… We’ve had such a gorgeous week, getting up when we want, wearing what we like and just pootling about not doing much on some days while we filled others with fun! We’ve […]
I’m rather keen on a noddle stir fry because they are so quick to cook and yet the vegetables and fresh ingredients make them feel so clean and healthy. This week I cooked a surf and turf version using Udon noodles which are my favourite, here it is. Ingredients: 400g of rump steak cut into 5mm width strips 200g raw tiger prawns 300g cooked and drained Udon noodles 2 tbsp of toasted seasame oil 2 tbsp of toasted seasame […]
We’ve been to Pensthorpe Natural Park in Norfolk before but the last time was over 18 months ago and much has changed since then. A big injection of fun has been created and added into what was already a pleasant day out. Pensthorpe was the sort of place we would go for a quiet day, we wouldn’t spend hours and hours but we really enjoyed the natural habitat that can be see, feeding the ducks and seeing the flamingos. There were fun […]
