I remember my parents turning 35 so it seems pretty old to me yet I don’t really feel as old as I remember thinking 35 is… Yet this week I turned just that and with my birthday I have hit mid thirties! I can’t believe it. People have said I don’t look it. Thanks very much if you are one of them… But it doesn’t stop the fact it is both true and while just sleeping in my bed doing […]
Florence is very much into puzzle mode at the moment! Puzzles and games and she absolutely loves to do a jigsaw puzzle. She has even come up with her own little game using jigsaws where we all have to take a turn to lay a piece and the winner is the one who manages to lay all their pieces first. She’s a clever little thing that’s for sure! Recently we reviewed a Frozen jigsaw by Jumbo which of course went […]
We have become quite the fans of Clarks shoes since not so long ago I discovered that despite my preconceptions based on my own childhood shoe shopping experiences, Clarks are both fashionable AND functional these days! What’s even better is that the styles appeal to not just me as a parent but also to Florence. I even let her choose her own shoes because at Clarks I know I can. I say to her ‘ok, today we need to get […]
I’ve often written about my love of the shop Aldi! We now try to do most of our shopping there which although isn’t easy due to one not being terribly close, we do because we save so much money. On average around £35 in a weekly shop! The thing is, it’s not just saving money and making a compromise on quality. The food, drinks and other goods (there are loads) are with very few exceptions very good, as good as […]
We’re massive fans of the Polka Theatre in London and have seen some absolutely brilliant productions there in the past, Charlie and Lola, Too Many Penguins, Gorilla are to name but a few and the latest in a long line up of truly awesome children’s theatre is Moomins Summer Madness! Moomins Summer Madness at The Polka Theatre! Moomins Summer Madness is showing now until 16th August 2014 so you have plenty of time to book your tickets but book your […]
I have always been such a fan of swimming and it stems from when my dad used to take me when I was little. After he left my Mum it kind of became our thing somehow and I don’t really remember a trip to see him when we didn’t go. As a smaller child we used to revel in finding the pools with the best slides and then as I grew we would always make sure we found one with […]
Last night it felt like the hottest night of the year to me. I had Jimmy in bed with me who insisted on sleeping on me rather than next to me so despite throwing the quilt off early on and flinging the window wide open I was absolutely swealtering! It felt like there was no air flow, just warm air coming in even though it was 1 o’clock in the morning and to say I couldn’t sleep was an understatement! My […]
When Florence was born I couldn’t imagine how quickly the time would be before she started big school. Nearly five years seemed so far into the future and I didn’t really give much thought to the time when I would have to hand her over to school for 6 hours a day, five days a week. Back then I filled our days with trips out and play groups. Lots of fun and lots of us just mooching and doing whatever […]
A while back I reviewed the Rug Doctor carpet clean. We had massively brilliant results and after I had flushed away the disgusting water that showed up my carpets to be rather less than clean they looked almost as good as new. The stains were gone in most places and the one very stubborn and old one was made considerably better! Not only that but the pile was brought up to show a fluffy and clean carpet just like it […]
For me Shakespeare has always been a real enjoyment. Of course there are some I like less than others but on the whole I have always found them very enjoyable. I know lots of my friends never really gave them a go and with the language used they discarded them from the off; missing then the amazing stories behind the words which I can see could be hard to decipher if you don’t have the will. Once you get past […]
