Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure 2025!

Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure 2025!

We are annual pass holders at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure park in Lenwade, Norfolk and have been for a couple of years. I absolutely plan on renewing our passes when they run out as we mostly love it there and I’ve many, many good things to say about them, obviously, or we wouldn’t keep giving them our custom.

The park itself is incredible with much work having been done to it in recent years. It could easily look tired but never does and it’s ever evolving. I love the way they keep it fresh like that and add on new, exciting areas fairly frequently. I don’t even mind that it makes the prices a little higher each year, that’s to be expected. The staff are friendly and always remember our names which is a nice touch too and largely there’s little to complain about but… The things which do irk are often very annoying, albeit definitely not enough to put us off, are very annoying!

Mainly, the problems I have at Roarr! are about money. The park, aside from the annual passes – currently £79.95 for anyone over 90cm (under 90cm are FREE) or £63.95 for concessions (age 65+ or for children with disabilities), which I feel are excellent value – charges way more for the extras than anywhere else I’ve been in Norfolk! I’d always say take a picnic and watch out for the other bits that seem to be a segue to fleece you.

A rule that open toed shoes cannot be worn on the rides seems reasonable, but when you add to that rule other shoes are suddenly not acceptabal either, like Crocs (with backs and toes covered), and then discover “oh, but you can HIRE neoprene shoes” (actually far less sturdy than a Croc) for £3 (as was last summer) and that feels like a money maker.

Things like the food is also, not to mention abysmal, a higher cost than I think it should be. I feel scammed buying even an ice cream at Roarr! Though these things are always a higher mark up than a corner shop of course, Roarr! always seem to go quite a bit higher than anywhere else. The hot food is also absolutely ghastly in my opinion and when they’re charging in the realms of £15.50 for 11″ (limp looking like microwaved) pizza, you just have to think they’re taking the Michael. I am always astounded that anyone buys an iced donut for £4.50. I mean I guess they must sell them, or they’d have a re-think, but I reckon they’d sell way more (and make more) if they took a leaf out of the likes of Wroxham Barns and BeWILDerwood’s menus. Both charge VERY affordable prices for really great food. At £5.75 for a giant banger with all the trimmings in a bun from BeWILDerwood and it’s a yes please from me. Cold, unappealing, unappetising on the occasions I’ve tried them when either a friend or I have thought “let’s give it another go” chips for £3.95 large (not that large if you ask me) portions are NOT the one!

But… Worth remembering that the the staff are great and they don’t make the rules!

Also worth noting that despite those types of niggles, we still keep on buying our passes, and I am truly not someone who’d buy them if the place wasn’t great!

We just had a visit over half term and I’m pleased to report that for the season they had an extra trail, a silent disco, and a new indoor play area. We did none of the above funnily enough and just did all the things we know and love like visiting the animals, playing on the GoKarts, soft play and collecting stamps (you have to get a minimum of 4 now for a medal – but, when you get 7 you can collect a toy (or at least you could up until recently, so I’m assuming this is the case). This is quite uncharacteristic of Roarr! I’d say, giving something away. If you know, you know but this has never been the vibe before and I don’t know if they have a new PR person but this half term they also gave every adult a free hot drink and every child a free soft toy. You could have blown me down with a feather at that but the result was so positive, it made me think ok, they’re doing great, this is AMAZING! A little goes a long way actually and a free tea, well, they’ve made me wonder if they’ve changed! Especially as it was afforded to pass holders. In the past all the special days and activities have come included in the price but I noticed an after school activity they’ve recently been advertising which annual pass holders have to pay extra for and this made me wrinkle my nose and think, oh, that’s just Roarr!

Well, maybe they might change a bit more and be a bit more “giving” in future if they see how positively it impacts them when they do. Speculate a little to accumulate a lot I reckon, I might even be persuaded to buy chips again one day if they continue in this way, just see if they’ve upped their game there too. Maybe… You never know!

All in Roarr! is a brilliant day out and we will continue to visit often. Nowhere is perfect and hopefully they will continue to iron out the niggly bits!
