Shhh, Father’s Day Surprises!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

It’s a good job that Jonny doesn’t really read my blog because if he did he’d find out what I have planned for the Father’s Day weekend!

We love a good family day out and as we are going to be in Norfolk I have planned for us to   go to a theme park both Jonny and I used to love as children! Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft used to be one of my favourite places to go as a child and although Florence has been before, it was such a long time ago that I don’t think she’ll remember! Last time we went it rained all day so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it won’t do the same this time! The park is celebrating 30 years of being open and I cant wait to see what changes have been made since our last visit a couple of years ago. I’m going to try and dig out some golden oldies of me when I was little and used to visit too!

Another place in Norfolk that we love and somewhere that’s FABULOUS for a family day out is Bewilderwood. We haven’t been for over a year and would love to go back again this summer to swing through the trees and search for the Crocklebog! It’s a real Dad place to go too so it would be perfect for this Father’s Day and if we didn’t already have plans then we’d definitely try to fit this in too! This Sunday Dad’s get in for free for Father’s Day making it a proper treat for the Dads. Shame we won’t be able to make it this weekend but hopefully we’ll find a date later on in the summer for a day out there!

The presents we’ve bought him are actually mainly for the children really – bit sneaky but I know Jonny will love them and then it will give the children pleasure too! Daddy, in our house, usually reads the stories at bed time so a while a go I bought a book for Jimmy to give him called ‘My Dad’. I found it in a book store near Angel tube where ALL children’s books are just £1! It’s amazing and has such a fabulous choice. I’ve  bought loads from there in the past to bump up friends birthday presents and even as presents for the goodie bags at Florence’s second birthday.

I love the little book shop in Angel, I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s just next to the Jamies Italian!

Another thing we had at Florence’s 2nd birthday party, she’s 3 now, was a massive Peppa Pig cake. Florence is a major fan. She has always loved Daddy Pig and for that birthday cake my Mum was on strict instructions to make Daddy P (as Florence used to call him) one of the centre focal points! It was excellent!

My Mum makes awesome cakes and this one with Daddy Pig on it (as well as all the other characters) was excellent!

So with Florence being such a massive Daddy Pig fan it was with pleasure I accepted to review some Daddy Pig things especially made for Father’s Day! Asda has an exclusive Daddy Pig product range which is now on sale exclusively at Asda stores nation wide until 17th June 2013. The exclusive range of all-new Daddy Pig products includes a My Daddy book (£5.99) and Champion Daddy Pig DVD (£5) for the little ones and for the Dads there is a wide range of merchandise including Father’s Day cards (£2) and giftwrap, cufflinks (£5), ties, handkerchiefs, lounge pants, pyjamas, trunks, slippers (£10), mugs (£4), keyrings (£1) and boxers (£6).

We got to review the book and the DVD and both will be Florence’s presents to our Daddy on Sunday. The book is lovely and it follows Peppa explaining why her Daddy is so fab! Daddy Pig reminds us of our Daddy too sometimes so it’s perfect! And the DVD which has the episode ‘Champion Daddy Pig’ as well as nine other episodes will be a welcome addition to our Peppa Pig DVD collection! We can all sit down and watch it on Sunday afternoon and bring our Daddy a cake and a cup of tea to have while he watches it!

I love that Florence still really enjoys Peppa Pig, even after watching them ALL many times myself, because it’s definitely one of the more watchable children’s TV shows. I often laugh along to Daddy Pig’s funny sayings, here are a few classics!

“Ah! What a nice day for doing…nothing!”

“Leave it to me! I am the DIY expert of the house!”

“Thank goodness I don’t have to exercise, I’m naturally fit!”

“This tummy is pure muscle!”

“To jump in a puddle, I must think like a puddle!”

Have a lovely Father’s Day and here’s hoping it doesn’t rain for our day at the theme park!

I have not been paid to write this post but I was sent the two ‘Daddy Pig’ products mentioned for the purpose of review.
