Spring Garden Glow Up With Very!

Over a decade after moving from a gardenless London flat to our family home in Norfolk, we finally bit the bullet and had artificial grass laid. The village we live in has clay soil and we tried and tried to grow our own for ten years but were always beaten – not any more! Now we can play football, and badminton, and do gymnastics and all the other sports that we (and by “we”, I mean the kiddos) want. And I finally get to have some outdoor space that doesn’t resemble a dirt box, and have been able to dress is beautifully with a little bit of help from my friends at Very who have some wonderful garden decor ideas!

A garden glow up can be affordable and stylish if you know where to look, and thankfully, Very is just the place, as well as being a one stop shop – from garden furniture to just the right finishing touches, they have it all! They stock Lights 4 Fun (another fave) accoutrements for the garden and sent me some absolutely gorgeous bubble fairy lights which work on solar energy. They are so clever and with 3,9 meters of length they gift their warm white light to a sunny spring evening making our garden shed look like a little magical cabin – I LOVE them and for £20 what a bargain! I’ve wanted festoons and fairy lights for ages but we don’t have an outside socket while other strings of solar lights haven’t been long enough – these are just right and at the risk of sounding like Goldilocks again, so are the beautiful Santa Monica rocker chairs that make a comfortable bistro set to sit underneath the twinkles (did I mention that the lights have different setting and can flash, slowly glow and more?!)!

The bistro set is £169, a snip really as they are excellent quality and lovely place to retreat to after dinner (I am ALL over the al fresco dining from Spring through to Autumn)!

And the rug, yep, that’s Very too! The Kamina indoor/outdoor rug which I love underneath the bistro set but also like on the patio, might have to buy a second!

I also love fun stuff and the Very neon flamingo is now talking pride of place in the garden day and night. It’s fabulous when a-glow but also a bit of a talking point in the day time too. My garden is largely a place for the kids to play, it always has been and that’s exactly what I want, but I do want it to be a reverie and small haven for me too, so choosing pieces like the flaming0, which make me happy, are helping me create the perfect all round garden. Little touches make finishing our garden (after all this time) enjoyable and indulgent – I am SO happy with the way my garden is looking (and SO happy with this sunny weather we are having so that I can cook pizza, sit in my chair to eat it and, let’s face it, dodge balls as they fly past from the children’s play!

Here’s to garden season – may the sun shine like my flamingo!

Collaboration.
