Well the summer holidays are finally here and after an emotional last day at nursery which included many tears (all mine), we are finally freeeeeeee!
I remember the feeling of breaking up when I was a child and it’s exactly the same now that I look out on a summer six week break with my own children. The only difference being, I assume, that those long weeks of summer seemed to last forever when I was a child and now that I am an adult I find that time in general just runs away faster than the blink of an eye!
Florence on the way to her last day of nursery. After I took the picture on the left with a tear in my eye she said ‘Now take one of me looking at my big school’ (it’s next door) and she just looked so brave and happy and grown up! I was certainly the only one of us with tears!
The weather has been beautiful this week and because I have a lovely neighbour she has been letting us use her garden for paddling pool fun and BBQs. We have been making the most of it and enjoying just being at home relaxing after the busy rush of school, ballet and everything else which happens term time!
BBQs at home!
It’s been excellent weather for Jimmy who is trying to learn how to use the toilet. He gets a chocolate penny every time he spends a penny and being naked in the garden without a nappy has been brilliant for reminding him he needs the loo.
Florence and I went off to an advance cinema screening of ‘The Unbeatables’ and then she went off to stay with my Dad for a couple of days leaving just me and Jimmy to have some one on one time. He was a bit poorly and I worried it was going to be Chicken Pox as it’s been doing the rounds but he felt fine again as suddenly as he didnt and no spots so fingers crossed! We’re off to Camp Bestival next week so we could really do without right at this time!
When he woke up from a mega sleep yesterday and seemed back to his normal self I decided to take him to the Princess Diana playground on his own which he loved! He’s just loved being in his swimming costume and splashing whether at home in the garden or out at one of London’s brilliant parks!
Jimmy loving the sunshine!
Selfies with my two this week!
We had a lovely first half week of the summer holidays!
I remember the last day my daughter was at nursery; it was a little sad. Then saying goodbye the first day of primary school was horrid. Suddenly you have to admit that they are not a little toddler anymore.
Now I have to look forward to it all again (my son is about to start nursery).
