Summer Fun In The Garden!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

For the last week we’ve been staying at my Mum’s where we’ve been having masses of fun in the garden. My Mum’s garden is huge, winding and has many parts to it which is the perfect play ground for children and coupled with the fact that we don’t have one at home in London it is a place of great excitement for all of us when we come home for a visit.

I just love to hit the BBQ so make the most of being in her garden for that as well as a spot of secluded sun bathing and the children play with the many wonderful things my Mum has put in place in the garden for them. Last year she even bought them a tree house style playhouse from Plum which is on stilts and has a slide – they LOVE it!

Florence and Jimmy are utterly thrilled with their new adventure playhouse!
Florence thinks the play house is amazing!

The playhouse is right at the bottom of my Mum’s garden and to be fair, is more in use during the winter months. This week, it’s been all about the sunshine and water play as well as alfresco dining and we’ve been having the best time playing with lots of lovely things!

We’re big Little Tikes fans and have a wide selection of their garden toys already!

This week, as we’ve been having so many real BBQ’s we thought the children would like to play at making their own alongside us and Little Tikes have this very sweet toy BBQ out in their new products range. The children think it’s fab and have been having great fun making us burgers and hot dogs! I love how it comes with sauces too!

Of course with any good BBQ you need to eat it outside and have a lovely place to do so. The Large Evergreen Picnic Table is perfect for that! At £75 it’s a good price, especially as Little Tikes things basically just last forever. They may fade slightly in the sunshine but they’re built to last! I can’t wait to have our own garden so that I can move some of these toys into it and they can play with them at home. The picnic table is definitely coming with us!

The Little Tikes slide is one my Mum bought ages ago and the children use it all weathers. This week I bought a very cool Dash and Splash Water Slide thing from Chad Valley at Argos and within minutes the children had put the slide at the end of it, squirted water down it and maximised the sliding fun. Now I’m sure this wouldn’t get past any health and safety checks so I can’t recommend trying it but boy we’ve been having fun! In fact, for fifteen pounds I think I’m going to have to say the Dash and Splash Water Slide mat is the buy of the summer holidays for us! We’ve had such a good time playing with it and it’s cheaper than a day out yet provided hours of entertainment daily! It’s a winner!

Totally loving our new garden additions of the toy BBQ, picnic table and dash and splash water slide mat. It’s no surprise that two out of three new things are from Little Tikes and that we’ve needed another Little Tikes toy to utilise the other one to the max! Totally cool that Jimmy is on the home page of the Little Tikes website modelling the Sports Edition 4-in-1 trike too! Get a kick out of that every time I go on!)

The garden is my favourite place to be right now so I’m feeling much more up for the Norfolk move and getting out of the smoke! I should strike while the iron is hot and just do it now I reckon!
