Sylvanian Families – Baby Mermaid Castle Launch!
We had a girl’s day out Sunday for the launch party of the Sylvanian Families Baby Mermaid Castle. To say I was excited is an understatement, I LOVED all things Sylvania when I was growing up and though I’d kept them all for my future daughters, I was gutted to discover they’d been badly water damaged in storage and didn’t ever make it into Florence’s hands. She was upset too as though she had a little collection of her own, nothing could have really matched my glorious originals.
I had the bakery, caravan, windmill, mansion, post office, hospital, school and tree house amongst other things and families galore. I adored collecting Sylvanian Families and the tokens which came on the boxes that could buy you more has proved a real core memory for me. I’d sit for hours counting up how many I had and pouring over the catalogue…
Well, yesterday Posie got her first introduction and boy was she bowled over. She immediately fell in love with the “coot”, as she calls them, babies and I watched her play very gently with them all. She talked to them and gifted me her mastery of small world play to watch and aww over.
We were treated to afternoon tea at the Haymarket Hotel we got to watch as “real mermaids” entertained us in the swimming pool, have our faces painted and got glittered and sparkled as much as we could. I chatted to Nicky Clark and Vanessa Feltz amongst other celebrity guests and Posie was in her element getting her face painted, chatting to mermaids and being able to play with all the lovely toys.
She couldn’t believe her luck when we left and she was gifted the Baby Mermaid Castle (and lots of other lovely pieces) and she clutched onto them super excited to get home and get playing! We went to the little park on Drury Lane and had to get the boxes out to look at them all – it was VERY good will power to not open them there and then!
The will power didn’t have to last long though and we spent all of Monday playing with the set. It’s absolutely beautiful and comes with three baby mermaids and lots of little pieces to hide in the treasure chest. Easy to put together we had it up and running in a few minutes for Posie to spend all day just loving on them as she played!
We have one very happy girlie and a new fan of Sylvanian Families, no wonder! What a great party that was and what a brilliant toy.
Thanks for having us Sylvanina Families and PlayTime PR, we LOVED it!
