When I was little my Dad lived in Holland. There were two things that were very popular with the children there that my friends in the UK hadn’t really caught on to in quite the same way – they did, but not until much later!

The first was the Pink Panther who I still really love and the other was Smurfs! They were literally like the Dutch Peppa Pig when I was a child and I fell in love with them too!

I’m so pleased to see that they made a bit of a come back with a Smurfs movie a while back and although Florence was a little bit little to go to the cinema when it came out, she was well into the McDonalds toys that came with a Happy Meal! She loved them and now there is a NEW MOVIE coming out I think she’ll really enjoy that too!

With the film comes a toy collection that also looks like it’s just waiting for us to get our hands on it! WAAAAY better than the toys we got from McDonalds last time and a world away from the tiny plastic and rubbery figures I used to play with in Holland back in the day! (Although little figures are still available and are just too cute!)

I’ve had a sneaky peak at what’s going to be on offer and it looks awesome! Little mushroom houses and a dress up Smurfette are just two who I know Florence would really enjoy playing with!

We’re going to see an exclusive screening of the film in just over a week and we get to dress up like Smurfs too! I’m going to get my thinking cap on because I know there will be prizes for the best costumes and we WANT to play with the toys so we’re really going to go all out to win one!! How good would that be? Worth painting a child or two blue I’d say! 😉
