TRY SURI!
The SURI toothbrush has been presented to me at a couple of press shows now and, I have to admit, with a shrug I thought yeah, but how good can it really be? I’m sure it’s great,, I’d decided, but better than any other electric toothbrush, of which I have had varying successes with? Hmm, I wasn’t sure!
I’d been very kindly gifted one of them but, probably because of my ambivalence, I’d left it sitting in my bathroom for a good-few-weeks thinking I’d get around to trying i,t just not today, all the while my ten year old has, rather differently to me, been champing at the bit for me to use it. Eventually, due to his persistence, I began my trial a couple of weeks ago (much to his chagrin actually, as I think he was rather hoping I’d pass it onto him) and I LOVE it. I really, REALLY LOVE IT!
I should have been using it sooner, that’s my main surmise! And I would have been had I’d known then what I know now, because yes, it’s like a lot of other electric toothbrushes in the sense that it is electric and it cleans your teeth much more deeply than when you do it manually but… It’s more than that! It gives you that feeling of a professional clean at the dentist! I mean, how good is that?!
I really love that feeling and to have it every day is absolutely brilliant; with no word of a lie, because this it is the very best electric toothbrush I’ve ever used, it is smashing it when it comes to any others I have tried. SURI call this cleaning technique, which gets them dentist clean, their powerful 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute. And this technique was designed, unsurprisingly, with dentists – to give your teeth that dentist feeling deep clean! On top of that, its merits don’t cease, with their excellent primary function comes:
Sustainability
Every year over 4 billion toothbrushes end up in landfill or in our oceans. That’s enough to circle the globe twelve times. And electric toothbrushes are nothing to smile about either. Decades of needless innovation, outrageously wasteful packaging, and millions more plastic components and batteries that will never be recycled. SURI have taken the electric toothbrush back to first principles. Creating a design that delivers an exceptional clean for your teeth with a minimal impact on our planet. They are REUSABLE, REPAIRABLE and RECYCLABLE. The heads are made from plant based corn starch materials and the bristles are made from castor-oil. The main body of the brush is made from aluminium making it long-lasting and recyclable eventually. And SURI recycle them when you’re done (you get a bag to send your dead heads back to them in FREE of charge in the UK and the US). They are also partnered with ClimatePartner to offset 100% of their brushes’ emissions, including their manufacture and transportation being committed to reducing and offsetting their carbon footprint each year.
Ease of use
If you buy the UV case it is self-cleaning and can charge your toothbrush but you shouldn’t ever actually be caught on the hoof with an uncharged battery, even when travelling, because the SURI toothbrush when fully charged will give you 40+ days of battery life. When you buy the toothbrush it comes with a stand and charger and a magnetic mirror mount for you mirror.
One of the other major plus points is that you don’t have to sign up to a sub for new heads if you don’t want to and can just buy them as you go. I like this a lot! All in all there’s not much to dislike but if I will admit I couldn’t make my magnetic mirror mount stick on my mirror so that’s a bit of a negative. It doesn’t matter so much to me but it might be annoying to some. Major thumbs up otherwise and i guess I’ll have to invest for the rest of the family!
