Wish You Were Here!

Thought I’d just send a cheeky little post card from our holiday in Portugal so far! We are in Lagos which is where we first visited many years ago pre children and fell in love with (we were already in love with each other)! We chose to get married here we love it so much and a family trip back (my Mum has come with us – actually more to reality, has brought us) was just what we needed – again. There are places I’ve visited and loved but wouldn’t go back to because I’ve been there and done that but here in Lagos, which is eclectic, cosmopolitan and full of beauty, it’s a place I can never say goodbye to. It’s the antithesis of Brits abroad with real culture in the town centre, untouched beaches and beautiful coves and yet still, by night, has a buzz in the air that rivals anywhere else we’ve been. It’s full of surfers from all over the globe, hippies, families, friends and has captured our hearts yet again.

Wish you were here to see it – it’s amazing! Oh and the food is gastronomic, I may have to be be rolled home! We’re eating fresh figs from a local fig farm on the walk into town by the bucket load!

This is the beach cove, called Estudantes beach, where Jonny and I had our wedding party after the ceremony in Luz and before our reception in Lagos town. It is my favourite of all the amazing coves and we've visited here many, many times!

A grotto trip in lagos is a must, we've done it hundreds of times and the fishermen come in from their early morning catch to take tourists out all day. It's lots of fun!

  1. Oh these are the best photos I have ever seen on your blog. They just ooze LIGHT and vibrance and vitality. Lucky for you you are still there as normally people write these posts with a heavy heart and holiday blues.

Good on ya for having SUCH a great holiday before the drudgery of the school run. Soak it all in, knowing we’re having Autumn at home.

If we do have a late September/October Indian Summer like we had last year, hell you’ll have that here in addition to your holiday you lucky lady.

Great postcard. Wish I was there indeed,

    Liska xxx

  2. It was lovely to see you guys again this year at Vilabranca. Thanks once again for your leaving ‘food parcel’!!
Hope you soon find your new house!

    1. Thank you Pauline, Lovely to see you too. Hope you had a nice rest of your holiday – we were very jealous when we left. x
