An Yvolution Balance Bike – Review!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

My Mum bought Jimmy a balance bike not very long ago but unfortunately it just isn’t right for him at the moment. It’s simply too big and although we hope he will use it at some point (it converts into a proper bike with pedals) as far as balancing goes it’s just a no go for him.

He’s quite teeny you see, my little Jimmy. Where some boys of his age might have legs the right length his just won’t stretch even on the smallest setting but it’s a shame because he isn’t ridiculously small and there are lots of boys who must have the same bike as him and feel the same way. So… After that experience I kind of figured that balance bikes would all be a similar style and size, I assumed (wrongly) that we’d have to bypass balance biking and wait until he was big enough for a proper bike and then…

We were asked if we’d like to review an Yvolution Balance Bike and when I looked up the dimensions it sounded like it might just be a fit. The picture in Argos looks bigger than his other balance bike but the level of the seat seemed promising. I crossed my fingers and said yes please and when it arrived I was thrilled to realise I HAD indeed worked out the measurements correctly! It FITS!

Not only is the Yvolution Balance Bike the right size with scope to grow but it's BRIGHT green - this has scored pretty highly with Jimmy!

It is much sturdier than the little bike we bought and it has a saddle and handle bars with three different heights. It absolutely caters for Jimmy’s size but it will see him for a long while yet and on the highest setting is right for Florence too!

It was SO easy to put together and took me about 10 minutes. It came with everything I needed (4 different Allen keys) and clear instructions with pictures to demonstrate what goes where and when. I usually leave the putting together of thins like this to my husband but as he’s working away I did it myself and I had no problems whatsoever!

Jimmy loves it and is mastering the art of balancing, gliding and getting used to a bike brilliantly! It’s a fantastic way to learn to ride and by the time he is ready for his other bike with the pedals he will have mastered the art of staying upright which will hopefully mean no stabilisers.

The Yvolution Balance Bike is a training bicycle that helps preschoolers learn how to steer and balance. It allows children to build the confidence they will need once they are ready for a more traditional bicycle with pedals—no training wheels required! Y Velo Balance Bike is so easy to ride, which makes it the perfect first bike.

Children are seated so that their little legs can reach the ground comfortably. To get going, they simply walk to ride and then, eventually, run and cruise. Children can easily and safely control when they stop by placing their legs firmly on the ground.

A built-in steering limiter also allows children to maintain control of how much they turn. The bike’s wide tires provide a steady ride across many terrains, taking kids from the sidewalk, to the boardwalk, to the soccer field. Padded hand grips, an ergonomically designed seat and shock absorbing wheels give little riders extra comfort. Y Velo Balance Bike features an adjustable seat and handle bars that grow with a child. This bike has no training wheels or pedals.

Ages 3+ (max weight 25kgs) Available in green
