E-Cloth – A Review!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

I was asked if I would like to review the e-cloth kitchen pack for my blog which is an environmentally friendly cleaning cloth and promises you need no more than water to rid surfaces of grease, grime and bacteria.

Not sure I really understand how water alone can be sufficient enough to get rid of bacteria but according to the people at e-cloth, it is! This is what they have to say:

With 480,000 fibres per cm2, e-cloths have enormous cleaning power. The act of drawing this volume of cleaning edges across a surface gives a deeper clean than cleaning with chemicals. The fibres break up and remove more grease and dirt, incredibly using just water.

Using high quality fibres, the construction of each cloth is specifically selected for the cloth’s end use. They easily outperform and outlast traditional cloths and other cloths made with similar but lower quality fibres.

So, the special fibres lift and trap the grease and dirt, obviously it leaves no residue on your newly cleaned surface, you boil wash the cloth and then it’s ready to start again… So, no chemicals just water and you can wash the cloth 300 times so that’s daily cleaning for the best part of a year. I was ready to put the e-cloth to the test…

The two cloths in the pack are the one with a rough scouring corner which can be used with water for cleaning stubborn areas with grease and dirt such as the cooker top.

This cloth is used wet and has a scouring corner for really stubborn areas.

You can then polish the area using the blue cloth dry. I found that my mirrored glass oven door came up beautifully using both the cloths (not the scouring corner) and I would usually have to use glass cleaner to wipe away all the smears.

After cleaning with the wet cloth the blue cloth is used to polish.

I tried the cloth on my oven top and the wet cloth with the scouring pocket corner did very well although I didn’t use the scouring corner much but this was only because I didn’t have to and not because it didn’t work. It was very effective indeed when needed! My cooker top was in need of a clean and where I would usually need to use chemicals I found that the water cleaned it just as well.

Before and after using only water and the e-cloth. Not so easy to see the difference on a shiny cooker in a photograph but I assure you the job was done.

The glass coffee table that the children sit up to for meals gets utterly, utterly disgusting after every meal and needs cleaning at least twice a day. I left the table a whole day and would NEVER consider cleaning it with just water ordinarily as I know it would be no use. I was mightily surprised that the e-cloth worked! It did take a lot of scrubbing with the scouring corner but once clean it polished up very easily with the blue cloth. Impressed but still dubious as to how just water can get rid of germs… But, they say it works and it does so I’m inclined to trust that they won’t be fibbing when they say it gets rid of bacteria and germs…

The cleaning took a bit of elbow grease but the polishing was effortless and came up beautifully!

Before and after. This really was a tough job to clean and I didn’t think cleaning without chemicals would cut it but it absolutely did – fantastic!

For this review I used the kitchen 2 pack which comes with one cloth specifically to clean kitchen surfaces and appliances and contains a scouring pocket for more stubborn areas. The second cloth is to clean glass and shiny surfaces leaving them completely streak free. Other duo packs in the e-cloth collection are specifically for Bathroom, Window, Hob and Oven, Granite and Shower.

I was not paid to write this post but I was sent an e-cloth kitchen pack for the purpose of review.
