Christmas 2019!

I always think the run up to Christmas is almost better than the actual day… The excitement of it all to come and not knowing what the presents will be. I don’t know why but I enjoy all that more usually and the build up for us this year has been amazing. We’ve done so many lovely things with the children which my blog affords me, we are so lucky!

Firstly, way back in November is when the Christmas buzz started and we began the momentum with theatre fun, days out, Father Christmas visits and much more!

SKATE at Somerset house kicked off the celebrations!
Shrek’s Adventure with a festive feel!
The Snowman at Sadler’s Wells!
We stayed overnight in a hotel after Shrek and The Snowman before going to Willows the next day!
Our annual visit to Willows Farm with the Mummy Endeavours crew!
Wroxham Barns close to home was brill with their elf school!
The annual Christmas picture!
Unfortunately Florence was poorly for Stick Man and the London Transport Museum and had to stay with Gram!
The London Transport Museum was awesome as always!
I took Raffie to see My First Panto’s Rapunzel!
And with friends we went to see the My First Panto’s Jack and the Beanstalk!
Christmas jumper day!
And LOTS of Christmas jumpers!
We wore ourselves out basically!

And then it was suddenly Christmas week and Daddy had a gig on Christmas Eve but we got to spend lots of lovely time with him as that’s the perk of being a teacher! He is so much happier now and though gigging to make ends meet while he trains is necessary and a little bit annoying on Christmas Eve, the trade up is more than worth it!

We all went to the Victorian Christmas at Gressenhall!
The panto was absolutely fantastic there!
The children loved all the crafting!
I obviously made them all wear their new London Transport Museum jumpers, hats and scarves!
Which made them look super cute!
And one of them couldn’t even moan about it even though he was in clothes about 5 sizes too big for him!
A day trip to Center parcs!
Was a really lovely way to break up the festivities with something a bit different!
We left Father Christmas one of my (overcooked) mince pies!
Some sherry – no lily livered milk for us!
And a carrot for the reindeer though I’m not sure that Raffie understood why?!
Amd had a hot chocolate from the mugs that the elves left in our Christmas eve boxes (Raffie had Christmas pyjamas too but at this point wanted to wear Jimmy’s Children in Need ones)!
Before actual Christmas day!
Where Gram took one for the team stuffing the gigantic turkey!
Florence and Raffie did breakfast!
We has superb stockings!
Raffie was a bit bewildered!
Florence looked more and more grown up as the day went on!
Daddy was very tired still wearing his glasses from the gig he played the night before!
And Jonny’s family joined us for lunch!

It was a lovely, lovely day and we are still basking in the fun of Christmas week playing games and eating our body weight in chocolate and leftovers. But now we are also into the birthday week of fun too because Florence is 10 on Tuesday and Daddy turns 42 on the second and of course we have NYE evening to party too. Feeling very lucky with my gang and I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say that Christmas 2019 was one of the best for the Rocknrollerbabies. No one remembers the presents or the food, not really, but they will all remember the smiles I hope, of which there have been many!
