Colief Breathe Easy Patches – Review!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

It was rather fortuitous last week when I was sent some Colief Breathe Easy Patches because within 24 hours of them arriving on my doormat both kids basically succumbed to a cold which left them unable to even sleep because of either the coughing or their bunged up noses. Poor little sausages! Jimmy coughed so much it actually made him sick and as the school has the 48 hour rule on that shizzle he ended up staying at home on Monday so that he could rest and recuperate.

It’s hard to get that all important to recovery from a cold rest though when every time you lie down you can’t actually breathe and though vapour rubs do something, just as eucalyptus oil on a tissue can help, the rub wears off and the tissue inevitably gets lost in the bed. That’s why the recently launched Colief Breathe Easy Patches are perfect! It’s a gentle and soothing decongestant patch, which can be attached to sleepwear or bedding directly like a sticker, providing a quiet night’s sleep for children suffering from a blocked nose.

You get 6 in a box for £5.99 and they can be purchased from Superdrug, Holland and Barrett, Lloyd Pharmacies and other independent pharmacies!

The disposable patches contain a comforting, natural blend of eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon and rosemary oils to ease the discomfort of colds and won’t aggravate their skin (it’s attached to clothing or bedding and not on their skin at all) while it WILL stay in place and work for 8 whole hours!

Eucalyptus oil is one of the best natural remedies for congestion as it has an anti-inflammatory effect on the airways thus relieving the blocked or runny noses experienced by many children. Children are more prone to grown ups because of their immature immune systems but of course these would actually work great for adults too if you do catch a dreaded cold!

I’d use one for myself for sure, much nicer than spreading thick rub on my chest and actually the eucalyptus on a tissue gets lost in whoever’s bed its in, not just the kiddos!

The only slight downfall is that they are recommended only for children over the age of 3 years which is a shame as if they were deemed suitable they’d be perfect for a baby too. Alas, we will have to wait for them to come up with one for tiny tots and be glad that they are available for older kids because really and truly they have made the world of difference to both Jimmy and Florence this week. The fact they now have a sickness bug on top of their colds is another matter entirely – at least it’s not ill time eating into the Easter break that’s all I can say, YET!

All in and I’m pretty chuffed with Colief once again! We’ve used their drops for Colic with Raffie since before Christmas and are now going to use the Baby Scalp Oil (which is part of their extended mum and baby care range) as part of his bed time routine because he does have a touch of cradle cap and my Mum keeps telling me I need to address it. So I will! I’m sure if it works as well as the drops and the Breathe Easy patches then we’ll be laughing!

The Colief Breathe Easy Patch is suitable for children three and over, and is available from selected branches of Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and Independent Pharmacies.  RRP £5.99 for a pack of six individually wrapped self-adhesive patches.
