I am an absolute sucker for a bargain but… Only if it’s a ‘good one’ and by that I mean quality over everything. I see no point in buying something that looks the part but which will fall apart tomorrow so my thrifty shopping doesn’t happen every day. However… I am a massive fan of Poundland and this Christmas they really have pushed the boat out when it comes to money saving AND quality!
I have lost all snobbery when it comes to shopping in cut price supermarkets! I used to turn my nose up but now I see the products are often better quality and the money saving is immense so… Why wouldn’t it be the same at places like Poundland? It’s not!
I have been working on a #CrackingValue Christmas project with them and boy… I’ve found some amazing bargains. Along with a team of professional bloggers we’ve been tasked with showing you all what beauty you can get for you home decor this Christmas by spending one mere Great British Pound and I have to say… Task it was not!
My job was to create a table fit for a family of Kings on Christmas day and I am SO pleased with every little thing I bought I know they will become things I get out year after year! Take a look at my festive Chrimbo table!
And while I was stocking up on batteries I also managed to bag myself all the wrapping paper I will need. I got in a muddle because they do 3 rolls for £1 and I thought they were that price each so I had to run back in and pick up something else to make up the money of my vouchers… I bought a couple of packs of fire wood which usually is quite pricey but you get a big pack in Poundland for £3… There’s nothing more lovely after the Christmas lunch than to sit in front of the T.V with the family and this year we will be doing it in front of our wood burning stove – how cosy is that!
And I couldn’t resist one more purchase… While most things cost £1 (of course), they do have lots of offers on higher priced items. One which astounded me was 110 Finish Dishwasher tablets for £8, I have NEVER seen them cheaper than that anywhere else but… We’re talking festive here so I didn’t make that purchase for this shop. Instead I bought a snowman shaped pass the parcel filled with goodies, jokes, family forfeits and fun. They say it’s an alternative to crackers but I thought we’d just have both, why not?! The pass the parcel snowman costs £4 and one little Jimmy was quite miffed that we didn’t get to play with it properly and have to wait for Christmas day… Look at his face!
So… As you can see I got some amazing things and everything looks wonderful! I’m thrilled with my purchases (Aside from spending my vouchers I also spent a bit more and bought some fantastic stocking fillers which I can’t wait for the children to see! I’ll tell you more about those at our #CrackingValue Twitter party which is going to be this Friday at 12.30-2pm! Join us to talk about all the bargainous things on offer at Poundland and maybe bag yourself one of our fab prizes! We have 5 x £25 Poundland vouchers to give away during the party so make sure you’re there and in it to win it. Follow #CrackingValue and see you then!
