Dearest Raffie – You Are Five!

Dearest Raffie,

You are five years old! I blinked and here we are, my littlest boy at school and doing so well at that. Aren’t you just wonderful, living up to the name sunshine, I have always called you, in every way. You just love being a school boy and making shields with recycling as well as drawing lots of submarines (still one of your most favourite things in the world)! You are learning to read and can write your name. Watching you grasp how to spell is such a pleasure to watch. You just go wholeheartedly into absolutely everything and love embracing anything new which is fabulous. Just as fabulous as you. My kind, funny, grumpy, silly, smart, pleasure of a baby boy, it hardly seems like five minutes since you were tiny in my arms and brand new. Five is terribly tiny but also terribly grown up and you will be the most wonderful five year old ever! Happy birthday Raffie Rocco Cricket, look what fun we’ve had on your special day!

Straight after school on Friday was time to hand sweets to friends at the gate!
Before a birthday themed Friday Night Treat Tea to see us into the birthday celebrations!
I finished making the party favours!
With a cape of a luggage label to say thanks for coming to my party!
And Saturday was all about the party prep! Food boxed for the kiddos!
Contained food with all your faves – aside from pasta, that was a step too far for a picnic box!
Gram made a cake in your chosen theme and wasn’t it GLORIOUS!
Of course there were cupcakes to match!
And for the grown ups tea in the mis matched china collected for Jimmy’s second birthday and used oh so many times since!
And my now signature bakes of Nutella and Biscoff stuffed brownies!
We had Nick Moore from “Moore Madness”, I used to work with Nick and knew he was brilliant but he was absolutely amazing! Everyone LOVED the entertainment which was non stop!
And face glitter and hair braids by Florence!
The perfect party for my perfect five year old!
There was fun with friends!
And family!
Food!
Smiles!
Playing!
Games!
And the cake was admired by all!
Well done Gram!
She even made perfect cupcakes to take home with the goodie bags!
Candle blowing!
And snow!
What an amazing party!
Back at the ranch it was time to create the perfect sleepover camp out for you and Jimmy!
I loved making this for you!
Some of your faves, football, Spiderman and…
A midnight feast!
But first, presents from the party!
What a lucky boy!
No wonder falling asleep at the table straight after dinner ensued. We transferred you to your camp where you were joined by Jimmy who didn’t last long in his own bed and joined you in yours!
Presents left for the morning!
But first comes the birthday treasure hunt!
A family tradition!
As is the birthday breakfast chocolate fondue!
Which we pretend is a little bit healthy with the fruit!
And our other staple Jus Rolls!
He loved it!
We all cashed in on that!
Chocolate chops!
Healthy pineapple!
Me and my boy at 09.36, 5 years to the minute he was born!
Finally presents!
Absolutely loving his birthday!
No wonder, he’s been so spoiled but he so deserves it!
My pleasure to give him what he asked for and I LOVED his reaction to opening it, “can this be mine?”!
Then it was time for a family day out at Roarr!
Raffie’s fave!
Big sister Florence!
Big brother Jimmy!
Being a big boy!
Dippy’s raceway, the star attraction!
Racing little sister Posie!
Brothers!
We did see the rest of Roarr, honest!
Picnic lunch!
A walk in the woods!
Of course we went to Dippy’s theatre, still the must do!
And a meet and greet!
Sandpit action!
For all!
5 today!
High ropes!
Can’t visit Roarr without doing this!
The fab four!
Plus the grown ups!
And McDonalds for tea!
Before one more sing of Happy Birthday!
And a blow out of the candles!
