DOUBLE THE FESTIVE FUN FOR YOUNGSTERS THIS CHRISTMAS IN NORFOLK!

DOUBLE THE FESTIVE FUN FOR YOUNGSTERS THIS CHRISTMAS IN NORFOLK!

All-In Productions at The Garage in Norwich is a bit of a staple theatre experience for pre-school children (and older), and this coming festive season (we’re half way through the year already!) they’ll be back with not one, but two shows for Christmas – one for tiny tots and another aimed at a slightly older little one. As well as performances at The Garage, their sister theatre space, The Workshop, will also play host and booking as soon as possible is imperative so as not to miss out on the wonderful, affordable and inclusive performances that have always wowed us with their invitation to discover theatre in clever ways.

So what’s this year got in store?

Want to dance with a yeti in a super-sized snow globe? How about racing to save Santa who’s crashed his sleigh somewhere on Christmas Eve? You can do both with The Imagitorium this winter.

The Garage Norwich and The Workshop King’s Lynn will host this new pop-up festive festival of theatre, play and adventure for all ages where children naughty or nice make the rules.

There will be two new family shows in Norwich, plus Santa-sized sacksful of fun events and activities in The Imagitorium Café.

Explorer Lucy needs little ones’ help in My First: Into The Snow Globe. It’s a new sensory feast aimed at ages fives and under and will happen in the new immersive studio performance space.

Map in hand, they’ll feel the snow crunch beneath their feet, the wind whooshing round them and the sky exploding with colour as they battle blizzards, sling snowballs and make friends with a yeti.

It’s full of the interaction, songs, storytelling and silliness that My First fans have come to love says writer and director Daniel Burgess of All-In Productions.

“Into The Snow Globe really satisfies youngsters’ need to play and let their imagination loose. Our new immersive space is going to wow audiences. It’ll be the perfect shelter from the outside world for an hour.”

My First Into The Snow Globe runs 15-31 December at The Garage Norwich. Tickets are available now at https://bit.ly/snowglobenorwich

The Imagitorium will then move to sister venue The Workshop in King’s Lynn from 3-7 January 2023. Tickets are available now at https://bit.ly/snowglobekingslynn

Second show Operation Save Santa is aimed at ages five-ten and will appeal to fans of Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Roald Dahl, Raymond Briggs. It takes place in The Garage’s theatre.

In the show, it’s Christmas Eve and twins Felicity and Seb are playing with an old walkie talkie they’ve found in grandad’s shed when a voice crackles through the static.

“S.O.S, sleigh malfunction. I’m gonna crash!”

Santa’s in trouble and it’s up to the twins to save him and Christmas. Join them as they power up the Santa Navigation Onboard Workstation for a musical adventure you’ll never forget.

Daniel said: “It’s important to continue giving youngsters that My First experience. Somewhere they can discover the magic of theatre. But our audiences are growing up and we have to grow with them.

“Operation Save Santa will be a bit more traditional but buzzing with that same My First creativity. It’ll a bit longer but still sharp as five-ten-year-olds can sometimes find a two-act show a bit much. We’ve also been able to add a sense of danger, which we think older children will enjoy watching as much as we’ve enjoyed writing.”

Operation Save Santa runs 9 December 2022-8 January 2023 at The Garage Norwich only.

All-In Productions’ Lloyd Gorman, who is composing music for both, is excited to cast some winter magic over The Garage and The Workshop.

He said: “We’re putting together a really vibrant, energetic, exciting and fun programme of events in a new and inviting space to play and explore. We can’t wait to see you.”

Well we can’t wait either because these shows are always absolutely brilliant and, as I always mention, the perfect invitation to discover live performance in a really immersive and child led way. Norwich is a hub of creativity these days and All-In are right in the thick of that always!
