Geomags Mechanics And Geomags Panels Review With Panels Competition!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

For as long as I can remember Jimmy has been obsessed with construction and building things. I remember when he was quite a lot younger going to the top of the BT Tower (get us) and while Florence and I marvelled at the views and hoovered up the amazing food (it was a pretty swish party), Jimmy lay on the floor just where the join sat that rotated the floor around. He just looked and looked and looked at it and you could see both the wonder that we were on a rotating floor and the wondering of how it worked crossing over his face!

It’s no wonder then that the toys he chooses to play with are often ‘building’ related and I’m pretty sure he spent his entire reception year at school in the construction corner – he’d still be there now if his teacher allowed it! At home and he builds with lots of different toys, amazing me all the while with how clever he is at it, very often being able to use things advised for much older children, and most recently he has been using Geomags to test out his building prowess and Florence couldn’t resist playing with them either even though I wouldn’t have pegged these as ‘her sort of thing’!

Here we have a Geomags panel set and a Geomags Mechanics set!

We were sent two sets, an 86 piece set from the mechanics collection (you build a more mechanical structure which can DO something like move or roll) and one of the Panel sets with 192 pieces (you can also win one of these sets at the bottom of this post)! And Jimmy has, as predicted, been loving them both. What was more surprising, as I mentioned, was that Florence also enjoyed these sets which are quite scientific and interesting in an educational way. Geomags makes larger and smaller sets just like these as well as having three other collections all aimed at different ages and stages. Judging by the two sets we’ve been playing with I’d say they’re worth investing in from a young age with their Magicube sets and building the collection as they grow. These are items which will be classic and timeless like Lego or sticklebricks (remember those?) and something worth keeping as a bit of an heirloom like Brio. They’re quite pricey but go and play with some and you’ll see why! I  often donate the toys we play with for the blog to a worthy cause once the job is done and I really wanted to gift ours to our school… But… We love them too much to part with them just yet and even though I think all primary schools should have a set (What a resource!) I know my children would be very upset if I gave them away so I won’t!

Planning with some instructions!
Something they can both enjoy together!
This keeps them busy for hours and instead of the iPad they are reaching for this when they come home from school – perfect!
Jimmy was always going to enjoy this!
And Florence has surprised me and herself by loving them too – especially the Mechanics set!

So, onto the competition, fancy winning a 192 piece panels set? Go on, be in it to win it as they say and complete the Rafflecopter wiget below for your chance to win a set just like this!
