Halloween Half Term 2021!

It’s felt like a bit of a slog getting through the first half term of school. We started well and towards the end everyone got bugs, was under the weather and with the worry of COVID I’ve been counting down the days to the holidays. It couldn’t have come sooner with the preceeding week seeing us off school for a few days but not able to go anywhere while we awaited PCR results. I had wondered if half term might be an isolation holiday but thankfully we didn’t have to and we’ve been able to get out and about enjoying ourselves albeit very mindfully so. The numbers rocketing have been incredibly worrying and I was glad to have the children home from school just so that I could be in control of who they saw, when and where. It feels precarious again and though we tried to not let that worry take over, it has been there. We still made sure we had fun though. Still tried to not let it take over. Florence broke up 2 days than Jimmy (this is new) and spent a day shopping with Gram and a day of rest (she needed it) was in order before we had the whole gang to play with. I love having them home (when we can go out and have fun – isolation and being couped up is not how any of us wanted to be and I feel so sorry for those who have been) and I hope we made the week as fun as it would be usually! Here’s our best bits!

Off for our first family outing of the week to Wroxham Barns!
Which was, as ever, super fun for Halloween!
With pumpkins and Instagrammable moments everywhere!
My girls!
The winter picnic season of Heinz tomato soup and hot chocolate has commenced!

Help from big sister!
Loving the independence!
A quad of pumpkins!
A day out in London!
To see Stickman at the theatre!
One VERY happy face and Jimmy in the background pretending he doesn’t want to see a babyish show – right before he loved it!
London baby!
Pizza Express for lunch!
A really good meal!
With something for everyone!
Before we went to Covent Garden!
To have ice cream at the Milk Train Cafe!
What an ice cream!
They were delicious!
Really enjoyed!
Not just a pretty face!

Raffie loves it!
We all love the cafe afterwards!

Me and my gang!
Me and him!
Wednesday was a slow day. Gymboree as normal for Raffie and the big kids got a bit of a rest!
Thursday the little two and I went to London for the day!
We started the day at the Tumbling Bay playground!
Which was lots of fun!
Posie’s first time there!
Next we went to the London Museum of Docklands!
And had such fun in their Mudlarks play area!
Both Posie and Raffie loved every second!
And got thoroughly involved in all the activities!
There’s even a new bit since the last time we went!
Sensory play for the littlest ones!
Next up was to the George at Asda launch party for the new Alesha Dixon range!
Where Raffie had a dance class!
And had a great time in his new Alesha Dixon tracksuit!
We all had so much fun!
Friday we went to a casting with Sandra Reynolds to see if they’d like to represent us. I don’t think it went that well but we had fun!
And in the evening we took the big two on their own to Fairground Fright at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach!
Which was lush!
Then Saturday we had our cousins over for a Halloween party!
Posie went as a witch!
The boys matched!
More witches!
Lots of food!
And actual Halloween was a breakfast special at home!
I tried!
They had fun!
Crackers and all!
They do like a special food day!
Although Posie didn’t get it?!
We met up with the baby gang!
For some special photographs!
Pumpkin baby!
Sitting in her friend’s borrowed pumpkin!
A little spider for the afternoon!
With her skeleton brother!
Who was all ready to do trick or treat!
And thought it was so much fun!
Especially the haunted house someone in our village had created!
And then the boys went back but Florence was still off so we had a girls day in the city attending an event at the Theatre Royal’s new cafe!
And she did Gymboree with Raffie on Wednesday while Posie and watched!

It wasn’t all easy but we had fun and are looking forward to the next, which will be CHRISTMAS!
