The first time Florence had a ‘Subway’ we were on our way to a birthday party, late, hungry, waiting for a bus and there was nothing else in the vicinity of where we were. Subway just wasn’t really on my radar and if it hadn’t been for a lack of anywhere else I probably wouldn’t have gone in but since that first visit we have been many times. It very quickly became a favourite with Florence’s and she loves it so much I can use it as the very highest prize in bribery. The best thing? It’s all healthy stuff as far as I can see!
Florence always has the same thing and Jimmy has the same as his sister. She always chooses a Kids’ Pak for both of them which consists of a 4” sub, a Capri Sun and a ‘bear sweet’ (as we call them) which are actually Yo Yo’s made of real fruit and nothing else all mushed up into a string of what my children believe to be sweets. For their sub filling Florence always takes great delight in going down the counter choosing ingredients but every time she has exactly the same thing. Ham, cheese, lettuce, cucumber, pepper, tomato and a touch of mayonnaise and she always opts out of the toasting! Now, that’s a whole heap better than a Maccy D’s don’t you think?!
This weekend we were invited to a special tea party with ‘Subway’ to launch their new Kids’ Pak which is Mickey Mouse themed. At the tea party we were treated to face painting, hot dog Disney dancing, creating a giant sub against the clock and we had a very special illustration class by a real Disney illustrator. We washed it all down with lashings of yummy food and a sneaky peek at season two of the Disney Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts! There was even a special guest in the form of the mouse himself and we had oodles of fun!
We were already big fans of ‘Subway’ for a treat but I think this has made us even more so. I’d not actually had a Sub from them myself until the weekend but I think I might be a convert too. Totally yummy!
