Pensthorpe For Easter 2023!
Having been regular visitors of Pensthorpe ever since we had children we’ve seen many changes at the park. It has always been a wonderful day out for families, but over the years there has been tremendous focus on making it more welcoming and inviting as well as inclusive for all.
Not only have the play areas, both inside and out become a real hub, a massive talking point about their brilliance, but activities on offer such as pond dipping and den building, both really unobtrusively added into the day have been complimented by their seasonal offerings which are varied and always in keeping. We loved the poo trail they did a while back and now the train around the main lake and reserve focuses on different animal’s nests. Always natural, and relevant as well as educational, but always fun!
This Easter, to go with their nest trail they are offering free arts and crafts and a second trail around the outdoor play area Wild Rootz whcih invites children to find the bunnies and count how many egg each bunny has. At the end of the day you get to post your entry into their post box and be in with a chance of winning the daily draw to be the recipient of an Orchard Toys game. I love how Pensthorpe partner with other local businesses like this, Orchard Toys is Norfolk born and bred too and just one of the gorgeous brands sold in the shop. The shop is BEAUTIFUL by the way, I could spend days in there!
We had another lovely day at Pensthorpe yesterday, despite the rain! It was actually lovely, very sheltered and because it wasn’t too cold we still enjoyed being outdoors. The great thing about them when it comes to a rainy day though is that they will give you a ticket to come back on another day if it rains for one consecutive hour or more. It did that for sure yesterday but then when the sun came out a bout 3pm it felt pretty magical in the light and the lushness of everywhere! We dried off in Hootz House and came away with a new family word as we discovered that Posie calls flamingoes “famambingoes” which we all thought was utterly brilliant!
Pensthorpe is just glorious, whatever the weather and it’s also tardis like, it never feels busy, even when the overflow car park is jam packed so it always offers a quiet walk and then a lot of fun in the park too. We love it!
As annual pass holders we have been gifted our tickets this year but we have long been customers of the park and will continue to be so when our partnership ends.
