Santa’s Spectacular At Willows Farm Village!

We love Willows Farm Village in Hertfordshire. It’s absolutely one of the best days out for a family and even though it’s not in London where we live, it’s super easy to get to. We live East and it takes about half an hour in the car but you can even reach it on public transport so you definitely don’t have to drive! We went yesterday for a festive family day out and had such an awesome day!

We like to go throughout the year and their Easter Eggstravaganza is one of our favourite times to visit as well as just on regular days when there’s no special events other than their (very special) every day programme! The summer is particularly beautiful on the farm because there are lots of outdoor activities, bouncy castles and rides for the children to enjoy in the sunshine but the most magical time at Willows, for us, is right now at Christmas time! They have their Santa Spectacular which is utterly awesome. Forget Father Christmas visits anywhere else, THIS is where it’s at! The children get to walk through his festive grotto and see the elves at work amongst many other magical things as they make their way to Father Christmas! When they reach the front of the queue and get to him they are given a golden key to his toy shop where they can choose anything they like as a gift!

As well as the grotto and Father Christmas visit there is ice skating as a special winter treat! I love how this farm transforms itself from season to season as you could never get bored with visiting! They also have extensive soft play for all ages, sand pits with diggers, play equipment, a theatre with wonderful shows (yesterday’s panto was fabby) and on top of that we mustn’t forget the animals where children can even hold and stroke them in the petting area!

In the summer there are more animals outside but right now they have reindeer which are totally awesome and we loved seeing the baby lambs even at this time of year would you believe! We’ve not been since Easter and since then they’ve updated the petting area which is now HUGE and where it used to be is a toddler town with lots of little houses for little ones to play in! There is so much here that it’s almost impossible to do it all i a day but we try!

Yesterday it was MASSIVELY busy but apart from the lunch queue (for very decent food) we didn’t queue for long for anything! Lunch took an age but they were very good about it and I guess they didn’t realise they’d be SO busy. Tasty food though and not a bad price at all!

I also like the fact that once you’re in that’s it, nothing else to pay for (well, apart from food of course). The rides and even ice skating is covered in your ticket price! Florence and Jimmy LOVED the old fashioned fairground ride, playing in the sandpit and seeing the animals as well as soft play to finish the day, ice skating, holding guinea pigs and of course the meet with Father Christmas! We posted our letter to Father Christmas and Willows tell us we will get a reply! How exciting! They had such a fab day – we have been lots but we always want to go back!

I hope you enjoy our video of the day!

Santa’s Spectacular is on at Willows Farm Village until 24th December 2013. It costs a little bit more for the children but they do get to choose a rather decent gift from Santa’s Toy Shop! For more information please see the website www.willowsfarmvillage.com.

I was sent complimentary tickets to the farm for the purpose of an honest review.
