Summer Holidays 2023 – Week 3!
We started the week by getting up bright and early (I’m talking still the middle of the night really) and heading down to Cornwall for 5 days of camping in Polzeath. We had planned August thinking it would be bright and sunny but, alas, the weather in the run up was anything but and we were very worried about it thinking it would be a complete wash out. Luckily the weather turned a little and though we didn’t have the blue skies and endless sunshine we’d have had ideally, and we did encounter more than one or two rain showers, it was mainly fine and dry with even some sushie gifted to us – enough to burn my legs at least, owch! We got to do all the things we’d planned from surfing and having fish and chips at Rick Stein’s to sitting on the beach without a care in the world famous face spotting. We even took a trip to The Eden Project which was super fun. Though camping is hard work and not the luxury relax I’d ideally have on a holiday, we had the best time. I felt very blue on the return and totally wish I could be doing it all again! Thankfully we still have a week in Southwold to come!
