Tabby McTat At The Southbank Centre For Easter 2019!

Me, you and the old guitar,
How perfectly, perfectly happy we are.
MEEE-EW and the old guitar.
How PURRRR-fectly happy we are!’

If you’ve not seen Freckle Productions perform one of Julia Donaldson’s books live on stage with your little people before then you have been missing out! Don’t miss out for any longer because their shows are simply stunning. Beautifully curated straight from the pages of our favourite story books they bring real life to the characters we know and love so well.

In every production I’ve seen in the past they have had the most wonderfully talented performers and Tabby McTatt, on at the Southbank Centre in central London from now until the 13th of April, is no exception! We were blown away when we went to see it yesterday and even the baby watched avidly from start to finish! This show is a little bit different to others I’ve seen engaging the audience just a tiny bit more with the performers set amongst the young crowd to begin with and charming them all the way through it was absolutely purrrrrr-fect in every way!

Not familiar Tabby McTat? Where have you been, this story is one of the best so let me give you a little insight – Tabby McTat is a cat with the loudest of meee-ews and along with his best friend Fred he busks and sings with a guitar delighting the crowds, until one day Fred disappears.

Separated and alone, Tabby finds shelter and a new life with all the home comforts that any cat could dream of. However, memories of his life with Fred haunt him, and he sets off to search the streets for his long-lost friend.

Lots of songs and clever direction make this show a new favourite of ours. In fact, the children have been singing the songs ever since we left the theatre yesterday lunch time which… Is a bit of a day out in itself! After we’d seen Tabby McTat we sat down on a picnic bench inside the foyer to have our lunch and dissect what we’d just seen with smiles on our faces then before we knew it a band, a family friendly band no less, had begin to play and entertain us even more. We were told that there’s a similar type of FREE performance every day this week at lunch time and so we highly recommend a visit to Tabby McTatt with a bit of a musical treat afterwards!

Watching ‘Rocktopus’ after Tabby McTat in the Southbank Centre yesterday lunch time!

I can’t wait to see what Freckle will do next – they just keep excelling themselves!

We were invited to see Tabby McTat as guest of Freckle Productions.
