Tummy Ache By Orchard Toys!

Tummy Ache by Orchard Toys is 35 years old! Children have been playing this form family favourite for over 3 decades and it’s still going strong because the winning formula doesn’t require anything more than children. No tech, no flashing lights and batteries, it’s just a simple formula (but special) and really taps into the mind’s of little ones. Recommended for ages 3 to 7 we have proved them a little wrong by adding a Posie into the mix (and a Jimmy) and together we’ve been having loads of fun creating edible meals in our place settings… I say edible…

The thing is, a lot of the cards do contain something yucky which is both hilarious when you’re 5 and frustrating at the same time. The aim of the game is to pick up cards which provide you with a yummy meal and be the first to get to five without having to shout TUMMY ACHE too many times along the way when you pick up a yucky card instead! Make sense?! It does to Raffie and Posie (who played with me) loved making yucky noises when she saw food that is definitely not to be eaten!

To be honest not too many food types in this house get met with anything other than a yucky sound, especially for the little two so it was quite good to have them cheering for the food that is meant to be yummy and edible. I’m not sure if it’s entirely encouraging them to eat anything other than their standard pasta, cucumber and crisps but it’s a talking point at least?!

Great game, as always from Orchard and one we are very definitely pleased to have in our collection. They always say the oldies are the goodies and it’s certainly true with this one!
