WIN A Samsung Microwave!

So if you’re like me then you will be an appreciator of ‘easy cooking’. I’m not talking Pop Tarts or Supa Noodles (although I have been known to indulge – shhh, don’t tell my husband who thinks they’re the devil), I just mean a bit of microwave action… Not everything you cook in the quick friend is awful for you; it can steam vegetables with the bad boys of bamboo and my husband swears blind it does a mean bacon buttie (seriously, I married a guy who microwaves bacon because it’s healthier!) and even if you just use it to do your Birds Eye veggies in a pot of water because boiling a pan is just too much, it’s definitely one gadget most of us don’t want to be without!

And now you can win one! Haaaa! On my blog! Haaaa! And a Samsung all singing, all dancing one at that!

  1. Lots of things, but the family favourite is Steamed puddings. They come out lovely and fluffy and are so quick.

  2. I use it mainly for sterilising my sons bottles, heating up baby food and cooking the occasional ready meal – oh and nutella hot chocolate in the microwave is divine! x

  3. Popcorn, jacket potatoes and general warming up. But it’s a good way of making a bechamel sauce for a lasagne – a lot less mess and effort than on the stove.

  4. I always end up eating just half my dinner as my partner makes humongous ones and putting the rest in the microwave to heat up later !

  5. I cook all sorts of things in my microwave, vegetables, meats and probably most often Jacket potatoes.

  6. Anything except beans or spaghetti hoops, they tend to lose all their flavour! Mainly for defrosting meat though, so much faster! x

  7. I kept seeing recipes for cake in a cup… I gave it a go nut was a bit of a disaster so now its just back to being reused for heating up!!!!!

  8. i mostly reheat my meals in the microwave, but i do know how to make a lovely 40 second chocolate cup cake in one.
    PM me for recipe!

  9. hi i love chocolate sponge pudding in a cup very quick and easy
i also cook chicken which is nice a juicy but looks anaemic so before cooking i use herbs and spices to coat it and give it colour x

  10. Veg. It cooks really quickly. I also start jacket potatoes off in the microwave before transferring them to the oven to crisp up.

  11. Most frequently I cook porridge for breakfast every day and often microwave rice to go with stir fry, curry or chilli!

  12. My favourite thing to cook in the microwave is jacket potatoes. When they’re done, I take them out, wrap them in foil and put them in the oven for half an hour – perfect, fluffy potatoes!

  13. mostly beans and soup but i do like to start my jacket potatoes off in the microwave then crisp them up in the oven 🙂

  14. Hmmm, new baby on the way – it would be nice to be able to heat things without having to guess the time like our current one.

  15. Thank you for the opportunity to win a great prize and be in a wonderful competition – Thanks again 🙂

  16. I cook scrambled eggs for a very quick lunch as I work from home ( this is most days as I usually realise I’m hungry and it’s lunchtime and I need to eat pronto!). I have a microwave rice cooker which makes perfect rice- I just can’t get rice right cooking it on the hob!

  17. I love to cook a sweet potato in the microwave, then fill it with tuna mayo & cheese & give it a further blast in the microwave to melt the cheese! Yummy!!

  18. My milk for breakfast in the morning, jacket potatoes, soups, maccain microwave fries.and sometimes chocolate for making rice crispy cakes.

  19. I cook fish and baked potatoes in the microwave as well as heating up things like tinned beans, tinned spaghetti and soups. I also sometimes make a cup of tea in the microwave and i use it to warm up muffins or coissants.

  20. Melt chocolate in it and use it to cook all sorts of homemade meals. I also use it to cheat at lunch time with lunch pots.

  21. Sad to say the question should be what DON’T you cook in the microwave? 😉
It’s just so convenient and if it gets the job done I’m not too proud to use it…
although I love steamed food as it it seems to hold more flavour in.

  22. When the kids are in i never have a chance to finish acup of tea, so am forever heating it up in the microwave x

  23. Linda McCartney sausages. They take just 60 seconds and, in my opinion, are better microwaved as they don’t ‘dry out’.

  24. Porridge, heat milk for coffee, part cook jacket potatoes when in a rush. I did have a recipe for “Picnic Bread” this was like a batter, it had cheese and herbs in it. Lost recipe and it was delicious!

  25. Porridge and I make a lovely jam sponge pudding in the microwave (sadly mine has recently died so this would be a great thing to win!)

  26. Hungarian Goulash and Casseroles are perfect meals for the microwave…. quick sponge puddings after tea is a treat too, only 3 minutes and you have perfect puds!

  27. i mainly use mine for hoting up the custard/ soups dinners have tried a few cakes but was not succesful . Lost the information so it was quess work , but it is 12 years old

  28. I havent had a microwave for years since my last bust so its been a while I would love to cook porridge in it as it saves on time and doesnt burn any pans and also it would be nice to steam rice and veg in too

  29. a lot of veg, but my favourite is treacle sponge pudding, but don’t tell the kids………………………………

  30. Bananas with slivers of mars bar pushed inside. Once softened remove, add cream, sprinkles, little marshmallows and drizzle with melted chocolate.

  32. I do all sorts, hot chocolate from scratch (melting real choc and warm milk), scrambled eggs with fresh herbs and quick sponge cakes!

  33. Morning porridge and other hot cereals. Baked potatoes at lunchtime, so quick, even tastier if you finish off in the oven for a few minutes. Sponge puddings for afters in only 5 minutes. A microwave is versatile and economical to run.
Much easier to clean thana traditional oven too:)

  34. I heat a lot of things but not sure i’ve ever made anything other than scrabbled eggs. My sister in law cooked mushroom in hers once. Not sure that’s normal!

  35. Jacket potatoes if I can’t use anything else, I use it to defrost meals previously made and put in the freezer also

  36. Rice, steamed veg, jacket potatoes, scrambled eggs, porridge, reheating leftovers, my sons baby food, pasta… Loads!

  37. My favourite thing to cook in the microwave is scrambled eggs – they are light and fluffy and its a lot less messy than cooking them in a pan!!

  38. I don’t have one at the moment but if I had one I’d be cooking porridge. I hate cleaning the porridge pan when its cooked on the hob!

  39. My hubby’s microwave meals on a Monday and Friday as we only get 20 mins to eat before he has to go out and teach after work
