Two weeks ago my family and I joined in with a two week teeth cleaning challenge set to us by www.careway.co.uk which is a health hub for people wishing to locate their nearest pharmacy and features specialist healthcare advice and interactive tools to help people keep track of their health. Careway recently conducted a survey of over 2000 people and it showed that one in five parents don’t have the time to oversee children cleaning their teeth. Two minutes is the recommended time […]

Is there anything better when getting into bed than brand new, straight from the packet bed sheets? I’m pretty sure everyone feels the same. I was talking to a friend about this very thing just last week and we both agreed, there’s something wholly wonderful about a night’s sleep in brand new bedding. My friend told me she buys tons of bedding because she just can’t resist that feeling and then has to hide it all from her husband so that […]
On Sunday we went to the premier of the new Thomas The Tank Engine movie and got to see it a few days before its general release date. On 17th July 2015 it will start exclusively screening in cinemas for a limited period and is one NOT to be missed! Thomas The Tank Engine – Sodor’s Legend Of The Lost Treasure is a 63 minute feature length of the popular children’s television series which turned 70 years old this year! What […]
weve inly just written about the fabulous Series 5 from Zelfs and here I am again with more Zelf stories! This time, I’m talking Crystal Zelfs who, the story goes, create wonderful dreams using their magical powers that come from the crystals on their bodies. They’re just like regular Zelfs but with bling! Each comes with a magical crystal accessory too so perfect for little Zelf fans to collect! They’re a tiny bit more expensive than some of the Zelfs […]
I had a little experiment in the week which I thought turned out rather nicely. I DID slightly overcook everything because my oven is new and I’m not used to how hot it gets yet but despite everything being a little darker than intended my Strawberry Baked Alaska Cupcakes were a bit of a hit! So, this is how I made my cupcakes filled with ice cream, fresh strawberries and topped with gooey, chewy meringue. Cupcake Ingredients: 4 oz Caster […]
Lil’ Zelfs, series 5 of the Zelf world, have just launched and are as fabulous and more so than all that have gone before it! My children think they’re great, in any colour, and both of them play super imaginative games with them! For Florence it’s all about the hair and Jimmy just likes having a funny little creature in his pocket, either way, they’re besotted! We were sent two Zelfs from the new series and to Florence’s delight they […]
I’ve just turned 36 (oh my) and yet even to this very day I have to borrow from the bank of Mum and Dad sometimes! It’s a bit embarrassing but in this day and age it’s nigh on impossible to get on the property ladder without some sort of footballer type wage or lottery win and I’m forever grateful to our parents for lending/giving us money when we embarked on that first rung. It wasn’t so much that we didn’t […]
Punchdrunk are well known for not just offering a theatre experience but rather more than that with their productions making them interactive pieces the audience are thoroughly involved in. They call it ‘immersive theatre’ where they offer freedom to explore the imaginative world of one of their shows. Interestingly they work with adult theatre mostly but with their latest production they have invited children over the age of six to come and experience the Punchdrunk magic and with their production of […]
I’m too young (not something I find myself saying often) to say that I remember The Clangers from their first time around but even though the show stopped broadcasting in 1974 (I wasn’t born until 1979), I still knew exactly who they were. When I was a child it was way before the likes of YouTube and personal tablets so unlike Florence, who watches old shows from my youth on her iPad, I didn’t actually get to see them at […]
I love the film ‘Sliding Doors’ which portrays life changing on the basis of what has or hasn’t gone before it? If we do something one way would the end result be different or the same? Fate or just one moment in time altering the course of destiny forever? Another film, one which I could watch over and over, has a similar concept when it comes to moments in time changing everything forever. ‘One Day’, which was Richard Curtis’s last […]
