I do eat meat but I often choose a vegetarian alternative, especially when it comes to mince dishes. I’m not keen on cooking with mince myself, something about the look of it makes me shudder and aside from proper American style burgers in a restaurant I probably could live without it entirely. At the weekend we went to the Lollibop Festival where we enjoyed some really delicious veggie versions of meat balls made with chick peas and it inspired me […]

I love the fact that we have an NHS service and am forever grateful that we don’t have to worry about medical bills because we know we will be taken care of no matter what our financial circumstances – eventually. Everybody receiving NHS care is treated the same and this is the kind of world I want to be living in. I have to point out then that this moan is certainly not about the NHS as a service. Instead […]
Last month we were invited to a swim call with Huggies Swim Nappies and at the last minute we just couldn’t make it which was such a shame. I’d hurt my back and it was my birthday the next day so we just decided to miss it so that I could have a little rest. It was such a shame as I was super looking forward to a swim just Jimmy and me as we don’t get to do too […]
The Potette is something I have often heard other parents talking about. We’ve even used a friend’s Potette in the past when we got caught short whilst in the park one day and in fact that is the main beauty of the Potette. It is a potty, which folds up flat and you get to take it out with you for the day to whip out in those moments of wee wee panic! And now there is a Potette Plus, […]
We loved it, loved it, loved it! You can see just how much here, here or indeed here! But these are the pictures that capture our best bits of Lollibop 2014! We were given complimentary tickets in return for an honest review.
We were Lollibop 2014 ambassadors for the blog and we had such a great time on Friday when we visited that we decided we were going to go back for the Sunday too! I wrote about our first day at the festival here and also about how much we enjoyed Tikes Town which may have been just a small pat of the festival but was a favourite with us both last year and this! We had a more chilled out day, not […]
A few months ago I took Florence to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End. She loved it! Loved the story (which we read before we went), loved the music and of course, loved the magic of the theatre! Going to the theatre is something very special to do with children and I love to take mine. Acting and the theatre have always been a big part of my life and sharing this wonderful passion with them is […]
A couple of months ago I took the children (and my adult cousin Helen) to see Disney On Ice – Worlds of Fantasy. We absolutely loved it and had the most brilliantly magical time! We so loved Disney On Ice – Worlds Of Fantasy! Now Disney is back on the ice with its brans new show, Disney On Ice – 100 Years Of Magic! It looks absolutely brilliant, which even if only half as good as ‘Worlds Of Fantasy’ I […]
We are very lucky and get to go to the theatre to review for the blog a lot. I am engaged with theatre in a way that I might not be had I not studied at a drama school and I feel it is so important to introduce children to the genre very early on. Mine have both been going since they were very tiny and I know that they get something from it which far exceeds lots of other […]
So, Lollibop got off to a flying start yesterday with absolute aplomb! They have totally got their groove on and know exactly who they are this year! I have always loved it but last year the festival which bills itself as ‘the big bash for little people’ perhaps wasn’t located in the right venue and as a result came under some criticism for being too commercial. Firstly, I have to say this aspect didn’t bother me personally, without sponsors there […]
