Dearest Raffie, Now You Are Seven!

Dearest Raffie,

Our most special seven year old, and seven seems so big yet it feels like only minutes since you crashed into this world, after many hours of trying, out of the sun roof. You were born that Monday morning, after many hours of fighting it, and the world became a much better, much sunnier place as soon as I saw your face. Your face was the one I dreamed about years ago, before I had babies. I was waiting to see it all that time inbetween as the dream had been so vivid it seemed impossible to have not yet met, and then as soon as I looked at you, I knew exactly who you were! And are! My sunshine boy!

You are absolutely unique, and perfect, and wonderful. You light up our lives with your fire and determination. You’re funny and when you smile, always looking as if to ask “is this OK?”, you make everyone else smile too!

You work hard at maths, and writing and football, and dance and you make us so super proud to be your Mummy and Daddy and brother and sisters! You love to be with Daddy (as always) and you cuddle up to me still, wrapping around me, with lots of smoochy kisses. You’re so living, and I adore how you love super strongly. I adore watching Miranda and Outnumbered with you, always hoping for a bum or a windy pop to be in the next scene! You also enjoy watching The Bake Off which makes me very happy! And though you’re not overly fond of food in general, you love your staples of pasta (always), fish fingers, chicken chippers, and, of course, the Filet-O-Fish when we go through the golden of arches!

Raffie, the sunshine boy who still loves whales and sharks but has added into the mix a deep affection for Sonic, and Pokemon, and Roblox too! You’re a very special seven year old indeed!

Happy birthday my baby boy, you’re now off to school and then Beavers, so we won’t see you much today (sob)! But there will be the birthday treasure hunt before school, presents and cake when you get home and then all the fun of your tubing party at the weekend – I will update this post with ALL the pictures!
