How to Create the Ultimate Space Bedroom for your Child

Recently, space themes have had a huge rebirth when it comes down to our children’s bedrooms. I think it must be the re-emergence of the latest Toy Story film. I can’t seem to go anywhere without seeing children on days out carrying a Buzz Lightyear in their toy backpack!

Yet, it’s not always easy to think of ideas on how to create a space-inspired bedroom. Surely there’s something better than just sticking up a planet poster. If we think that is boring, then what will our children think! So, fear not. Read on to find out three ways to take off with decorating your child’s space bedroom!

  • Choose a space wallpaper

One of the easiest and most impactful ways to transform your child’s bedroom into a space haven is to install a space wall mural. There’s such a range of amazing collections out there. From, colorful galaxy murals wallpaper and even NASA astronaut and rocket wallpapers, there’s something for everyone.

Try to plan your feature wall onto a wall that is quite central to the room to get a sense of balance. Behind their bedhead or along a long wall are always great options. Or you can even be really creative and install a space wallpaper onto the ceiling. Just imagine your child lying in bed, looking up at their star-smothered ceiling. As well as being a great way to make a small room bigger, a stunning wall mural adds character, colour and texture to any room. You won’t believe your child’s reaction when they see their amazing space wall!

Galaxy bed covers and curtains

A more subtle way to add a touch of space to your child’s bedroom is to keep the walls plain and opt for colourful and patterned space bedcovers and curtains. There are all sorts of designs available and you can really go as simple or as crazy as you want. Some are adorned with aliens and rockets. Others are smothered in labelled planets and some are as simple as white with tiny stars scattered across them. You can even find bed covers which have an astronaut’s body on them so your child looks like a real astronaut when they are led in bed! Add a TV The best way to round out your kid’s space room aesthetic is a TV where he can watch all the sci-fi shows and space documentaries that he wants. Make sure that you look for a professional offering an TV and aerial installation in London, or wherever you live, so that your child can watch the telly without the added difficulty of poor signal reception.

  • Planet ceiling mobiles and glow in the dark stars

Another way to give your child’s bedroom a space theme is to add a number of accessories to the ceiling. There are some really fun, 3D planets that can be hung. If you want to do it right, make sure you install the planets in the correct order. This way, your child’s space ceiling won’t only look fantastic but actually be educational. An easier way to get this look without having to hang up every individual planet is to buy a planet ceiling mobile. They are all grouped together and can be simply hung in one go. Simples!

As well as hanging 3D planets you could also stick up some glow-in-the-dark stars onto the ceiling. When they lie in bed at night, they can admire the beautiful constellations!

Is your child quite a nervous sleeper or scared of the dark? These glowing stars could be a great comfort to them as they drift off to sleep.

As you can see, it’s not too difficult to achieve the perfect space bedroom for your child. You can either opt for a few of these ideas or if you’re really keen, you could use all of them for a space bedroom that is out of this world!
