Revive Collagen!
If you have been hiding and haven’t heard about the benefits of taking a collagen supplement then please let me take a moment to remind you why it’s really good to add them into your daily ritual. After the age of 30 we stop producing our own natural collagen, which is rather a bummer don’t you think? It doesn’t matter how much water we drink, or what exercise, supplements or any other skin care we armour ourselves with, genetics can’t be changed and we are left rather depleted as a result.
There are things we can do in terms of injectables, skin boosters are meant to be very good to helping stimulate more natural production, however, things like that are both invasive and expensive so while it may be an option, it’s not for everyone. On top of that, even if you can invest in little “tweakments”, you should still be taking a collagen supplement to assist. Taking a collagen supplement is, essentially, putting in what you have lost. Certain foods contain it (it’s a protein) and making sure to adjust your diet is a good idea but… The levels you need to really see a difference can only really be found by taking a dedicated supplement daily.
Pros:
Collagen is a type of protein composed primarily of the amino acids glycine, proline and hydroxproline which form the three strands making up the triple-helix structure characteristic of collagen. Animal skin and ligaments, are rich in collagen and by taking it as a supplement it can help support the health of skin, joints, and hair.
Taking a collagen supplement can assist with:
- Making your immune system stronger
- Repairing tissue
- Cellular migration (which is necessary for maintaining healthy tissue
The changes we experience when losing our own, natural collagen, along with the depletion of the structural protein called elastin, are what can lead to skin ageing.
Cons:
Collagen is primarily sourced from animals, although there are some vegetarian collagen supplements on the market which have been genetically modified from yeast and bacteria. It is considered that if you are vegetarian, taking a supplement to enhance your own supplement, rather than replace, might be more beneficial but testing is still taking place.
Of course, as with anything, allergies can occur and in some studies it has been noted that allergic reactions have been detected in a few cases. Taking collagen is also not approved by Doctors during pregnancy – yet!
The cost is another factor, collagen supplements are not always inexpensive. However, investing in a trusted brand is likely to be far less expensive than regular facials. Always research before buying!
I’ve tried lots of different ones in the past, from tablets and powders to pre-prepared drinks and I have definitely seen benefits. What I haven’t seen is something I’ve enjoyed taking in terms of taste. The powders tend to lump and clump (at least the ones I’ve tried do) and though some are much better than others for that, they have all had a sort of claggy taste and the previously pre-prepared sachets I’ve taken have also not tasted good. Until now… In step Revive Collagen for the win!
I’ve been taking the Revive Collagen Enhanced Plus Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink and I actually look forward to it every morning, You can mix it with another drink but it’s actually really tasty, sweet but not too much and just very, very palatable. Easy to use too as it just has a tab you pull off before sucking it straight from the pouch if you don’t want to mix it with another beverage. The benefits of marine collagen like this one are that it is reduces wrinkles (it just sort of helps hydrate the skin, I’ve noticed everywhere being a bit plumper and things like my eye bags filling out more), it boosts skin elasticity (which is why I think my skin looks fresher and did so even after only 3 or 4 days) and it enhances hair health. I’ve not been using it long enough to see if it has made my hair grow, but I have noticed that I’m not needing to wash it every other day like I have been doing of most late, and am getting another 1, or even 2 days out of a wash. I don’t think that can be a coincidence!
Revive Collagen is the only supplement with Retinol and Keratin and offers 20 x the strength of an average collagen tablet. It also contains vitamins B6, B12, C and D while it doesn’t contain dairy, soy, lactose or gluten and is free from artificial flavours, colours or added sugar.
The next question I know you’ll have is “is it expensive?” and in honest answer, I will absolutely concede that this isn’t a “cheap option” but I’ve used cheaper options and they definitely haven’t had the same sort of results. So in essence, buy cheap, buy twice and it will be more expensive in the end. There are different payment packages but this particular sachet (Revive do many for bespoke reasons such as peri menopausal sachets and menopausal sachets) starts with prices from £33.99. So as an investment, and something to make you look better (which will in turn make you feel better), I think it’s really good and does exactly what it promises to.
You can order on a subscription basis (which is less expensive and what you will want to do when you’ve tried it for yourself) but you can also order as a one off and I do think, if you are just looking for a little pick me up, or you have a special event in a couple of weeks, that this is a good option to get to know the product. Like I said, I’m sure you’ll be a firm customer once you’ve seen for yourself what it does.
I’ve thoroughly ensconced the Revive Collagen into my skincare routine and it is the fastest part of it. no fuss or hassle and it makes a visible difference really early on. I’d also like to note that I went away for the weekend and didn’t remember to take the sachets with me, I assumed it would all be very visible straight away but the break hasn’t done any damage at all so I’m pretty impressed all round!
Collaboration.
