Roarr! Valley Of The Dinosaurs!
Obviously we are massive fans of Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure based here in Norfolk. I’ve written many times about our visits to the park where we enjoy all that’s on offer on site, all of which comes as part and parcel of the entry price and now, though we can never get around all they have in just one day as it stood, there’s another new attraction joining the line up!
As well as the high ropes for bigger children, the farm, soft play (which caters for all ages with the ginormous drop slides), outdoor play, fossil hunting, Dippy’s Theatre (Raffie’s absolute favourite), crazy golf, Go-Karts, baby play and the incredible splash zone (summer time only though my kids would probably go in all weathers and have done so even on the coldest summer visits), there is now an added extra to the already incredible dinosaur trail. We’ve always enjoyed the walk to see the dinosaurs and appreciated the various elements which have been added during school holidays. I love how they employ brilliant actors to take on whichever theme the park has picked up for a school break (like all their staff from the techy to the ground these are local people where possible) and it’s honestly always been one of the the most exciting elements without so much more than a photo opportunity next to T-Rex but now, oh now, it’s EVEN better!
The new Valley of the Dinosaurs is merged with the walk and dinos we all know and love, adding animatronic dino additions coupled with the invitation to use the new AR technology (also devised by local experts) where you can scan the code and play various games along the way. It’s really good, really does feel like you’re in Jurassic Park and the ending is the very coolest for you all get to have that photo opp with a clever camera which captures your being under dino attack and sends the picture straight to your phone. Does it cost anything for this extra? Absolutely not! Unlike theme parks who charge for the money shot holding you over a barrel as it is probably the only photo of the day you are ALL in (I’m the only one who takes pictures in my family), this is, just as with everything at Roarr! included in the ticket price and you can use the machine as many times as you like capturing again and again to get the right shot.
My family were invited to a bit of a press launch last week and we loved it just as the others did too. Our photo with the Cookie Crumbles gang is perfect and now that it’s been running for the week of half term I’m sure loads of people have had just as much fun as we did!
