The Gruffalo Live Streaming By Tall Stories!

Supporting the theatre is so so important at all times because actually, though tickets might seem expensive at times, it is an incredibly expensive way of producing entertainment and is, as it always has been, a labour of love for most production companies and theatres.

The concept of panto was devised initially to see theatres through the rest of the financial year by injecting as much cash as possible over the festive period to ensure the art didn’t die in the rest of the year and for 2020 I think we can safely say that the arts in general have suffered more than most so need that support more than ever. It’s really hard to socially distance at a theatre however (I mean pubs are ok… apparently, but the theatre where everyone is silent and watching and not even talking let alone socially being on top of each other from their own seats but… Whatever, it is what it is and theatres have adapted) and so for children we have seen a few of our much loved productions streaming on line for the enjoyment of children not just locally to them but absolutely anywhere in the world. It is quite literally a whole new world, a fantastic way of operating in these strange times and absolutely the way you can support your theatres to keep the arts alive for another year while at the same time delighting your children!

We are massive fans of any Julia Donaldson theatre adaption (we love them as much as we love the books) and with their musical whimsical charm they are shows we keep going back to year on year because they’re too good to miss. And absolutely too good to miss just because of a worldwide pandemic!

From the comfort of our own home we LIVE streamed a show from London today which has been expertly produced by Tall Stories and invited children to enjoy The Gruffalo at the theatre from home. Perfect!

Raffie had a great little set up for the show – Christmas lights, his friend the elf and a bowl of chocolate buttons!

A fab story, a wonderful production, brilliant songs and for £10 the whole family can watch so massively inexpensive, no travelling yet tremendous fun which will tide everyone over until next year when we hope things will be back to normal again! You won’t miss the theatre this year if you book today but you might just miss it next year if you don’t. Is it different? Yes! Did we have a couple of glitches with our internet? Yes… Did we still enjoy it? YES! Oh yes!

Tall Stories you’re doing a fabulous thing and we loved it – just look!

We were invited to see the show as guests of the theatre.
