What To Do For Halloween In Manchester!
As we steam roller into Autumn from the summer months of, let’s face it, quite Autumnal weather actually, we’re gearing up for Halloween with aplomb. This, the once forgotten holiday in the UK, is now big business for decorations, big invites for frolics and games, and big fun for anyone wishing to celebrate!
For us it will be family based activities when the half term holiday coincides with the 31st of October and, for on its most spooky day of the year, we shall be booking up our activities well in advance. I like to do some trips close to home as well as further afield ,and though we often take a mini break as a family to London, this does seem to have been done many times already, so I’ve been looking at booking tickets for things to do it other cities, a vehicle for showing my brood some of the rest of the country too! Manchester Halloween Events look positively glowing (with lanterns) and it’s super easy to hop on a train from Norwich which will take us directly there!
We’ve been to Manchester before, the home of my boy’s (second favourite after the yellows of course) football team and Jonny and Jimmy went a while back to see a game at Old Trafford followed by a tour of the stadium! And while in Manchester there will of course be that football edge (we couldn’t go with it), we will also be looking to book something fun just for us! Gram tends to come with us when we go away meaning we have a Grandparent on tap to baby sit (top tip folks, top tip!) and looking at the Manchester night life I can see there will be lots of spooktacular treats for us grown ups as well as the kiddos!
Club nights scare me as they present themselves today but give me a “retro” night and I’m in! Although I do find it fairly offensive calling the 90s “retro” when it was clearly only yesterday, I think the 90s Baby Pop Show is going to be just the distraction from busy day tripping with the children earlier on in the day. An early tea with everyone followed by some dancing fun for Mum and Dad is just the ticket!
Alternatively perhaps we will take the opportunity to go to an 18+ scare event, the You and Me Halloween Haunted House is on in Manchester on Saturday the 28th of October offering a secret location venue with a chilling scare element – now that also sounds like mega fun!
Have a look on Skiddle, the UK based event discovery and ticket platform, a one stop shop to find out all about what’s on where, how to book and indeed to grab those tickets and make sure you’ve got them in the bag! It’s especially brilliant if you don’t know an area well and are just holidaying like we will be.
The kids ALWAYS love Halloween and going away, staying in hotels and doing something new is possibly their favourite thing to do always so this little trip is going to be perfect! I’m currently looking up train fares with Greater Anglia which my best advice to get the least expensive is to book well in advance and to use a family rail card which quite literally pays for itself from the first journey! How exciting this coming Halloween is going to be!
