Naked Nutrition Collagen Protein!
They say you have to choose your bottom or your face after 30 and I have to say, I think they’re right! After having my first child when I reached that heady age of three decades I put on a bit of weight, of course, and when I lost it I noticed immediately that my skin had lost elasticity and a bit of va va voom! While I hadn’t enjoyed being the plumper me it had masked a bit of that so how, I wondered, was I going to make up for the fact my skin was now older when I really wanted to also be slim?
I didn’t really know but I have, ever since, used creams and drunk water like it’s going out of fashion (something else which proves tricky after having a child, not to mention four of them as I now have – my trampoline exercise classes are interesting) and looked into supplements which I have tried over the years. I have a heavy drinks regime in the mornings that consist of herbal teas, hot lemon and ginger water and then throughout the day I like to keep my liquid levels up, up, up but in recent years (a decade on from turning 30) I’ve noticed it’s needed a bit more. A friend recommended I tried Botox but it just hasn’t ever really floated my boat. I don’t fancy injecting a poison into my face simply for beauty, instead I’d like to grow old gracefully. But… It’s a big BUT! I do also want to give myself as much natural help as possible to do that graceful growing slowly, at least to the naked eye! So I’ve looked into collagen supplements for a long time now and tried a few which have been good (some) and bad (others) in equal measure. Some information I’ve read says it doesn’t help at all however I always think the proof is in the pudding and for me, the ones I’ve used which have worked well have been really worth it and the ones which haven’t been so good, well? It’s just another drink at the end of the day isn’t it, so no harm done. Rest and relaxation also plays a good part in how you look, its a green cycle of feel good and look better so I advise taking a load off and trying Troplilex – relax with good feeling and a bit if a rest in a gorgeous hammock!
But back to the hydration, which you can implement while you relax! One of the drinks I’ve been trying recently has been incredible actually and I’ve noticed a great difference to the sparkle in my skin as well as my nails and my hair. Naked Collagen from Naked Nutrition is definitely a good one and actually, I think the best one I have a tried so far. After using for a couple of weeks the difference I can notices is really big and I know others have noticed it too because I’ve been complimented on my skin quite a few times. Always welcome after 40 folks, that’s always welcome!
So, how does it work?
Well Naked Collagen has one ingredient, bovine hide, sourced from pasture raised cows in Europe. The collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the cartilage, bones and hides of cows which is similar to that found in our own bodies. It provides us with a healthy dose of types 1 and 3 collagen which are the major components of skin, hair, nails and muscles. We lose collagen as we age but we also lose it through lifestyle choices so supplementing is a real no brainer.
Why use it?
As well as assisting with that graceful ageing by improving skin quality, it can also have major effects in helping ease osteoarthritis, can imporve gut health, builds muscle, repairs tissue and promotes better sleep! All things which are important to me!
How is Naked Collagen for me?
Honestly it’s great and I’ve seen real improvements in not just my aesthetics but in my aches and pains too. Trampolining classes aren’t that easy after 40 either and I came away from one recently with a gammy hip like an old lady but recently I’ve found it a little easier on the joints. I have definitely noticed changes to my skin and my nails are in better condition while my hair looks healthier too. I had a baby a year ago and am at the stage of hair falling out in abundance every time I brush my hair but I do think this has been lessened and it feels thicker as a result. But it’s not just the results which have made Naked Collagen the one for me. The application is pretty great too and I want to compare it to a cheap supermarket special buy which really wasn’t the ticket as far as I’m concerned. It may well have done a similar job, I don’t know as I couldn’t stand to use it any longer, but drinking the powder with my drinks made this inferior one just unbearable. Naked Collagen can be mixed with any drink as it is odourless and colourless. The other cheapy supermarket brand was flavoured rather synthetically with a berry and it wasn’t good but that wasn’t its main downfall or the reason Naked Collagen comes out on top… When mixed with liquid the Naked Collagen just dissolves with minimal stirring and then you taste it not at all, it is just incorporated within your drink. The alternative clumped and refused to mix in no matter what I didn’t with it forming a consistency which was unpalatable. You don’t want these things to be a trial, they have to be easy and helpful otherwise it becomes too hard to consider. Naked Collagen is just easy peasy!
How do you take it?
I mix mine with a lemon and cucumber infused water usually but often times I’ll have with one of my Hot Tea Mamma (a tea with breast feeding mum benefits) teas. I don’t notice it even when I add two scoops, it just dissolves, does its job and I drink my drink as normal! Perfect!
Is it high in calories?!
No! That’s the other thing, this is not mixed with anything else so the calories are minimal at 35 cals per each 9 gram serving!
How much does it cost?!
Shipping is nationwide and to the UK a 20oz tub is £32.
What else do I need to know?!
GMO Free, Dairy Free, hormone free, no rBGH, or rBST. It’s Paleo and Keto friendly and there are no artificial sweeteners, flavours or colours.
All in all I’m pretty impressed and it’s helping me stay healthy at the gym with my old lady hips as well as keeping me feeling good about the way I look without even thinking about visiting a clinic for an injection! Pretty great in my books!
Collaboration.
