Yesterday we kicked off June with a trip to In The Night Garden Live!
We knew it would be awesome because we’ve been before. In fact, it was Florence’s fourth trip and although I thought she might have been too old for it last year even, she loved every second! It’s become a bit of a tradition now and seeing the show live is so enjoyable that she wouldn’t want to miss out!
Arriving at the Showdome (a specially inflated theatre just for the show) was super exciting and we spotted character posters all the way to the entrance!
Then we took our seats (comfortable large steps with enough room to put all the bags that come with a day out with two children) and settled in for an hour with the Ninky Nonk, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and co!
We saw the Ninky Nonk show and Jimmy couldn’t stop cheering when it came out and drove around the stage!
Such a beautiful and clever show!
The setting is so intimate with only 3 rows of seats and the atmosphere so wonderful with the projections, puppets and of course Derek Jacobi’s voice over that you really do feel like you are a part of In The Night Garden!
Familiar stories and a familiar format but a really special experience that television just can’t make! For any little fans it is a real treat and for us it was no exception!
Yet again, we loved it! Jimmy went the first time when he was a couple of weeks old, last year at just over one and now this year, at two, he thought it was better than ever! Florence sang along and danced with the characters and when it came to end we wanted it to go on!
We had SO much fun!
Would we go again? Of course we would!
To buy tickets and decide upon one of two shows led by either the Ninky Nonk or the Pinky Ponk pleae see www.nightgardenlive.com.
What an intimate show with such a small numbered seating area. Bet the kids were delighted! 🙂
