We don’t have a real Christmas tree which irks me somewhat. I appreciate that our flat is small, we have tiny children who would play with the dropped needles and a real tree which would essentially get chucked away is a bit of an expense but it still bothers me. Our fake tree does look rather realistic, it’s not made of tinsel and it’s the right colour; you might even be fooled from its look that it IS real which […]
Would I like to review a website for a competition? The website sells things for children from funiture and bedding to toys, gift and games. Ordinarily this wouldn’t interest me but I just had to have a look at the website and see what it was all about before I dismissed it and what I found was really rather interesting. The website is Compare4kids.co.uk and before I go into some of the reasons why I like it I have to […]
As with so many things in life, cutting your carbon emissions and saving money on your energy bills is a task which starts at home. It should be no surprise that many of our most wasteful energy consumption habits are ones which take place in the family home, as it is there where we tend to use the greatest number of appliances and power points throughout our daily routine. From over-filled kettles and bathtubs to phone chargers and screens left […]
Christmas time and the party season is certainly a time to be jolly and get into the swing of things! It’s definitely time for a tipple or three and for sure the house has to be decked to within an inch! But… It’s also a time to remember that we are not invincible and just because it’s the work party to know that we can’t do silly things like get behind the wheel of our cars after a mulled wine […]
We co-slept with Florence from when she was three weeks old. I spent those first weeks up and down every twenty minutes trying to get her settled in the moses basket but realised the only time she ever relaxed and actually went to sleep was when I gave in and sat down on the bed. In she came then and in she stayed until her brother was nearly here! Having had my baby in bed with me the first time […]
A while back Jo from Sit Still Monkeys tagged me in a Meme and I forgot to pick it up and run with it! Hopefully I’m not TOO late! The A-Z of Ruthie then… Tune out now if you don’t care to hear a few mundane and ridiculous facts about me but if you’re a little bit nosey then you might just like it! A Ageing: It’s my latest appearance obsession. I pretty much always have one so I guess […]
I wrote lots about Christmas with Asda last year because I was super impressed with their Extra Special range which is created with the Leiths School of cookery. The Christmas nibbles in particular were absolutely delicious and I have continued to buy from the range throughout the year. I haven’t written much this year as I have been busy with other projects but I think I may have overlooked what Asda have to offer! I DID write about their fantastic […]
We love Willows Farm Village in Hertfordshire. It’s absolutely one of the best days out for a family and even though it’s not in London where we live, it’s super easy to get to. We live East and it takes about half an hour in the car but you can even reach it on public transport so you definitely don’t have to drive! We went yesterday for a festive family day out and had such an awesome day! We like […]
I love walking through London, there’s something about it that’s not quite like any other place I’ve ever been! At Christmas time in the West End it’s even more exciting and with lights and sparkles everywhere it’s really quite magical even. Being in the West End makes me want to do lots of things one might do as a tourist but not as a resident… I’ve always wanted to go for afternoon tea at The Ritz for example. I don’t […]
We loved Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt when we saw it, the first live stage show of one of our favourite ever programmes! We saw it twice we loved it so much in fact! It was totally brilliant and because Florence has always been such a massive Peppa Pig fan, it was a really magical experience for her! The first time we went Florence wasn’t quite two but yesterday talked in detail about that visit to the theatre and who we […]
