Play Date At Little Tikes!

Posted in Uncategorized

Yesterday the children and I were invited to a very fun sounding play date with Little Tikes. We got up early and headed for Milton Keynes which is where their head office is and very excitedly talked about all the Little Tikes toys we love. Of course the Cozy Coupe is our absolute favourite! It’s been around for donkeys and I remember my brother’s having a retro one back in the day while Florence and Jimmy play with a newer […]

Stick Man, Lives In The family Tree – And He’s Live In The West End!

Posted in Uncategorized

We’re massive fans of ‘Stick Man’. It’s a Julia Donaldson story and is just one of her books that we are fans of. We also love ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’, ‘Room On A Broom’… Oh there’s a long list! Her books are fab but I think ‘Stick Man’ was the first that we read and it’s remained our absolute fave! We’ve also been to see ‘Stick Man’ live in the West End for the last two years […]

Usborne Christmas Activity Books!

Posted in Uncategorized

Give Florence a sticker book, something to colour in or make and do and she will be happy for literally hours! She is often given an activity book as a treat and one of the best brands there is as far as I’m concerned is Usborne. Usborne Children’s Books make lots of ranges from hard back big books of children’s stories to the ‘That’s Not My…’ series which we also absolutely adore and have written about They’re just super quality, […]

Hotel Chocolat – The Signature Christmas Collection !

Chocolate. Is there anyone who doesn’t like it? I remember when Florence wouldn’t eat a thing! Weaning her was incredibly difficult because she basically refused everything. Except chocolate! Even my health visitor (and we all know what pains in the bum they can be) told me to just give her a little bit of chocolate every day if that was ALL she’d eat… And Jimmy, well, one of his first words was a very clear CHOCOLATE! Think that speaks for […]

Make me Better Lambie!

Doc McStuffins and Sophia The First are pretty much all I get asked for on the television at the moment. Florence went to the cinema the other day to see Disney’s ‘Planes’ and came away saying, I don’t understand how it’s Disney? It was for boys! In her mind, Disney is very much of the sparkly girlie variety so Doc McStuffins and Sophia The First fit perfectly in with her ideal! If you’ve not seen them yet then I have […]

Home Sweet Doll’s Home!

Posted in Uncategorized

This time last year Florence was sent a Plum toy kitchen for us to review for the blog. We all absolutely love it and Florence and Jimmy continue to use it to play with passionately. One of Florence’s favourite games is ‘restaurants’ and the kitchen is a major part of that. Little girls also enjoy playing ‘home’ and having a kitchen is a beautiful addition to Florence’s games. Jimmy also enjoys the kitchen and for him, hiding inside the cupboard […]

Keeping everything private on social media: What can be done?

Posted in Uncategorized

Billions of us all over the world use these sites to communicate with friends, share funny stuff, learn what the world thinks about certain issues and let everyone know what we think about things close to our heart. It’s safe to say that social media plays a big role in many people’s lives, but are they giving a little too much away on certain channels? The issue of internet privacy from the government has been in the news lately. Worries […]

They’re Gone!

Posted in Uncategorized

I saw a picture of myself the other day and it reminded me that these days I no longer feel I have to scrutinise photographs and discard the ones where my moles are too obvious! Having my two facial moles removed at the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic was a brilliant idea and I am so grateful to Dr Adam Friedmann for looking at me and just saying a simple ‘yes, these are easy to remove’. I’d spent years hating looking […]

On Saturday we were invited to the Christmas Ideal Home Show by CEWE Photobooks. They asked would we like to come and look around the show with them, have a spot of lunch, take to the ice for some skating and learn how their photobooks work. Now, I have used CEWE Photobooks before and I liked their site so much I bought a canvas picture from them too so I didn’t need persuading to make another book with them! I […]

Santa and Father Christmas: There’s a difference!

Posted in Uncategorized

If you’re looking to surprise the kids this year and dress up as Santa Claus, you might think that a red suit lined with white fur is enough. Think again, as there is actually a difference between dressing as Santa and dressing as Father Christmas! Most of us would think that they are the same characters, but there are quite big differences between the two. Both characters have different origin stories that are very interesting to learn about this holiday […]
