When Florence was about three months old I was introduced to ‘Tiny Love‘ toys while out one day. Florence played on one of their play gyms and we loved it so much that we immediately changed the boring and colourless one we had at home for an exciting and vibrant ‘Tiny Love’ one instead. I saw the difference in her play and could see how interested in it she was, unlike the one we’d had before which she was obviously bored […]
Last week I wrote about The London Early Year’s Foundation and a fantastic competition they are holding to win one whole year’s worth of FREE childcare! This year The London Early Year’s Foundation is celebrating 110 years of offering first class day care and parenting support; as well as offering the chance to win such a fantastic prize, they are asking parents to visit one of their 24 nurseries in 6 boroughs of London, on one of the open days they are holding so […]
Since Florence was 7 and a half months old we’ve been visiting a little place I know called ‘Discover‘ in Stratford. It bills itself as an interactive story centre and museum for children but we think it’s that and so, so very much more! Our very first visit when Florence was tiny! We quickly became members because it’s super value for money (we pay £60 for SIX members of the family and that gives us unlimited access for a whole year […]
For my next self-appointed assignment with my new Nikon D3200 camera I decided to give taking pictures at an evening event a go! I wanted to take pictures in a darker environment of both people and of interesting objects and when I was invited to a local children’s museum for the launch of their latest exhibition I knew it would be the right scene for the pictures I wanted to capture. I knew there would be lots of people, it would be […]
Florence is a big craft fan and would happily spend hours upon dedicated hours paying great attention to detail in her work. She’s only three but already is very artistic and I’m extremely proud of how clever she is with it. She colours inside the lines, can draw people with heads, bodies, limbs and proper faces with hair and I just love to watch her work before proudly displaying the latest on our fridge. She loves anything crafty really and […]
We are mainly doing baby led weaning with Jimmy because that’s what he dictates. I find that he rarely will accept food on a spoon so I mainly give him finger foods and it works much better for him. He likes to eat and enjoys meal times whereas Florence never did so I’m just happy that he’s eating anything at all! Baby led weaning can be a messy process and while I’m happy for finger food to fly around I’m […]
Last night we were lucky enough to be invited to come and watch ‘Madagascer Live‘ at Wembley! The touring show is here in London for 3 nights only so what a treat for us! We are, as you may know if you’re a frequent visitor to my blog, massive fans of theatre! Theatre of any kind! But it never gets more exciting than seeing something live in a massive arena like Wembley! Often when we see something on such a massive […]
We’re back from our half term stay with my Mum and I have to say, I’ve thoroughly got the holiday blues… It doesn’t help that the weather outside where I live is cold, grey and wet today… It’s the sort of day where you just want to curl up and dream of the summer. So I am. I mentioned in my post on Friday that we have already planned a couple of little breaks for this year as well as […]
From very early on I established a bath after supper and before bed routine for Florence. It is, I hasten to add, the only routine I have ever put in place and continued with and Jimmy has just followed suit. I’m just not the kind of Mum who does routines in general I guess but we do usually stick to this one and it works. It helps them relax and unwind while having a splashing good time before getting in […]
For a while now I have wanted a steamer to clean certain things in the house. After getting my Vax Bare Floor Pro which we reviewed a while back and seeing how well it cleans the floors with very little effort it confirmed to me that steaming might just be the way forward. For things like grouting in the bathroom where I’m otherwise spending hours with a toothbrush scrubbing away! The cooker as well, that takes ages and you know what, it […]
