Health Visitor Survey
Caroline Williams, head of engagement at Healthwatch Norfolk
I am happy to admit it has been a few years since I was a new mum, but I can still remember the time I got home with my twins for the first time and thought, ‘now what do I do?’
One of the great emotional lifelines for me was my health visitor who was there to help and support me through the twins’ early days, but they continue to come to the house regularly as the kids got older to make sure I got all the advice and information I needed.
Those memories have come back to me as we are asking people across Norfolk if they have had contact with a health visitor in the last 12 months and what the experience was like.
There are a lot of studies going on linked to maternity care but not much focusing on health visitors, so we thought it was good to have a look at this and we are keen to hear people’s feedback.
We want to hear how your health visitor helped you and the sort of support they got, what type of information and advice you were given, and where you can get extra help if you need it.
It is important for us to discover if there is anything that can be improved as well as hear about things that went well and good experiences you had.
At the end of January, our research team will look at all the responses and put together a full report pulling together everything we found and any recommendations.
So how can you contact us and let us know your experiences? There are lots of different ways. You can:

Please share your views if you can. We work all year round to gather your feedback about the health and social care you get, and then let bosses know what we find out to ensure the help and care we get is based on what we all need. You can find out more about us at www.healthwatchnorfolk.co.uk
