Wroxham Barns For February Half Term 2022 – Lambing Live!

Wroxham Barns For February Half Term 2022 – Lambing Live!

Lambing Live is happening right now at Wroxham Barns for February Half Term and after our (very cold so wrap up warm) visit this week we are yet again singing the praises of how they run this fabulous resource for children! It’s not just a jolly on the farm with play equipment (indoor and out), a fun park (with all inclusive rides) and for this school holiday a maternity wing for lambs to be born while you watch the action live; this place is a mega educational smorgasbord of education wrapped up in the name of fun – my favourite style! Just like a hidden veg spag bol, the kids are getting all the good stuff while thinking they’re simply having fun and what could be better than that?!
To see real life baby lambs coming into the world with informative talks from the handlers is quite something to remember and having stepped foot into the maternity wing just moments after a baby lamb had sprung, with the mother ewe still licking it clean, felt very special indeed. We couldn’t peel our eyes away!

The maternity wing with all my babes watching the live births!
New ducks!
A first toddle outside!
She loved the freedom!
And tried to muscle in on her brothers!
Baby chicks!

But we did, for there’s so much more to Wroxham Barns these days that you need to pack it all in or you’d miss something. Now we have always enjoyed our visits here but it did used to be a bit tricky when the kiddos wanted to have a a few rides at the end. Tricky because extra expense on top of a day out is never welcome and just like an all inclusive holiday, I’d rather know where I am up front and have the cost incorporated into the ticket price. It has been now for some time and it works – not terribly expensive either! This half term a ticket will set you back £12.99 per person but this includes EVERYTHING and I don’t think they could say fairer than that!

Gram came along for the day!
Which was ace as four on their feet running in different directions is quite something!
Loads of hands on fun on the farm!
Not so happy to not be free!
Better!

It never feels busy even when the car park is rammed and they put so much effort into every season. The last time we were there before this visit was for Halloween and their amazing pumpkin patch, this month they’ve really focussed on the baby lambs and with the changing of the seasons everything is different so it’s like a brand new visit with all the staples of comfort you already know that you love like the rides (which Raffie asked to go on as soon as we arrived)!

Ah the rides!
Dressed up as “for the little ones” but very much enjoyed by all!
Raffie driving the train!
And a rocket!
She loved it all!
And Raffie was so pleased to be able to pedal this time!

This visit we weathered the cold for about 4 hours but could have easily done more if we’d worn better clothing – it’s brilliant to note that they also have a rainy day policy whereby if your visit received an hour’s consecutive rain fall then they will gift you a ticket to return on another day. LOVE that! It feels like you can book with confidence and know that you’re not wasting money.

Fun on the tractors!
Always better with a big brother to help!
Soft play is open!

We held rabbits ans guinea pigs, stroked newborn baby chicks, fed the goats, marvelled at pigs both teeny tiny and huge and got to see all the lovely lambs and mummy sheep. It was a very special experience and isn’t to be missed!

Feeding chickens was about his limit!
Gram had to feed the goats of terror!
Getting to touch baby chicks!
And the softest rabbit!
Not sure what Posie made of it all!
But Florence liked it – no we won’t be getting a guinea pig!
Still no Jim!
Absolutely not, that’s what the farm is for!

My friend sent me a message while we were there asking if it’s worth the entry price for her older children, one a year older than Jimmy and another a couple of years older than Raffie and I honestly told her that yes, it absolutely is. On paper Wroxham Barns is a bit small for my big two and yet they still enjoy every visit and find fun when we are there. It’s perfect for pre-schoolers but don’t rule it out for older ones as mine never stop smiling on a visit!

Do look at their website for all the upcoming features including camping this summer holiday which I am trying to work out if we can fit in. I thought about it last year as it sounded such incredible value for money but we couldn’t squeeze a trip in (I like to be busy). This summer I really do want to make it happen as again it’s an all inc vibe! From entry to the farm and rides (as well as after hours access) there’s also going to be evening entertainment and the facilities look ace! Weekend and mid week break options are available from the 22nd of July until the 4t of September with 2 night/3 day breaks as standard but you can add an additional night and day if you prefer. It’s £195 per pitch for up to 6 people (perfect for larger families like ours) and booking are now open – see the itinerary on the website, it looks jam packed!

Just one more. Had to record the goat of terror!

Thanks for having us again Wroxham Barns, another great visit!

We were gifted our tickets.
