Friday Night Treat Tea – Movie Theme! This week was our first Friday Night Treat Tea of the term because last week we had a thing at school. We’ve gone in strong with a movie night theme as Friday is the best night for a movie! Jimmy, Raffie and posie loved the nachos with plastic cheese sauce (so easy to make and yet they charge an absolute fortune for this in the cinema) and who doesn’t love a wiener hot […]
Friday Night Treat Tea – Christmas Theme! We finished school for the term with, of course, a Friday Night Treat Tea with a Christmas theme. Crackers and festive fodder like pigs in blankets, Christmas tree shaped sandwiches and other delights like strawberry reindeer and speciality festive crisps and biscuits. Gold chocolate coins were a must and we couldn’t have had it without a milkshake! Oh we do love a festive tea!
A Christmas Packed Lunch! Jimmy has always hated school dinners and even on school Christmas dinner day he won’t entertain the thought of it. He doesn’t, however, like to miss out on the fun food and Christmas party element of the festive lunch so of course, I step up with a themed packed lunch! This year I bought Christmas tree shaped vol-au-vent cases from Aldi which I filled with tuna mayonnaise (his fave), he had a Christmas tree shaped chicken […]
Friday Night Treat Tea – Sheep Theme! This week’s Friday Night Treat Tea didn’t go according to plan… I think we can safely say I’ve done better! However, with a sheep theme (because Posie just LOVES sheep) and some semblance of sheep on the party table the little two really appreciated it all anyway! Cream cheese sheep sandwiches in a flower meadow of leaves and carrots, a hot chocolate sheep (the face, oh my!), a cake pop sheep (I needed […]
Friday Night Treat Tea – Bonfire Night Theme! I think it’s safe to say Raffie was a little concerned about having a sparkler in his drink but how could you do a fireworks and bonfire theme for Friday Night Treat Tea without one?! He did, however, LOVE the bonfire of tomato soup in a mini souffle bowl complete with the candle providing the fire and the wood in the form of toasted cheese and ham sandwiches and bread sticks. And […]
A Halloween Packed Lunch! It will come as no surprise to know that I’m a fan of a themed packed lunch – I love fun food after all and when the boys had to go back to school for Halloween, after a half term build up to it, i couldn’t help myself. I used some of the things I had left over from the party we had and others I made especially for the day! I got a kick out […]
A Halloween Party! When it comes to a Halloween party I do tend to stick to the same formula, lots of games which are the tricks for the kids to compete and take part in, in order to win the treats which are the prizes! Sweets and little bits essentially that they can add to their treat bags as we go! This year we played: Flour game: Make a castle of flour using a bowl for the mould and place […]
Friday Night Treat Tea – Halloween Theme! We missed a week due to the school disco and timings but sent ourselves into Halloween half term with a Halloween themed Friday Night Treat Tea! It was going to be way more epic with a bubbling cauldron of cheese fondue but sadly a sickness bug took over most of the household so the treat was only for one and I had no energy. I cobbled together a pumpkin shaped cheese on toast, […]
Friday Night Treat Tea – Birthday Theme! Had to be a birthday theme for this week’s Friday Night Treat Tea with Raffie’s birthday over the weekend – we went into the birthday celebrations in style!
Friday Night Treat Tea – Pirate Theme! This week was a pirate Friday Night Treat tea, again I’ve used old ideas I had with the big two and the little two loved it! So easy, just a burger with a pirate flag and shark infested (cucumbers) “chippy waters” and a red ketchup X marks the spot, served with a bottle o’ rum (chocolate milkshake), a mini roll treasure chest and a sword fruit kebab! My Cricut machine was my friend […]
